The paper considers items connected with the study of a humorous religious discourse. The paper addresses specific features of humor in the sphere of religion, reveals the points of a religious humorous discourse, defines functions, factors, subjects and characteristic linguistic properties. The paper defines basic linguo-cultural models of the Orthodox religious discourse (Father, granny, dame), as well as defines universal and specific for the discourse concerned methods and means of comic image creation.

The article is devoted to the study of phraseological units with the component “soul” in the Russian and Korean languages, which provide the key to understanding the national and cultural specifics of languages, to understanding the images underlying phraseological units. A methodology for describing phraseological units has been developed, which includes techniques for distributing phraseological units into groups based on their structure and semantics. The article attempts to establish relations of synonymy and antonymy between these phraseological units on the basis of similarity / opposition of phraseosemes in both languages.

The article studies the problem if content analysis is applicable to research information warfare, considered at several levels of information impact. The instrumental level is actualized at the lexical level and can be studied through critical discourse analysis based on quantitative and qualitative content analysis. The results confirm the applicability of the described approach and demonstrate the features of the “US-China trade war” discourse.

The article investigates the main motives for constructing artificial language systems. The author examines the issue using such methods as description, analysis and synthesis of information. The result of the study is an analytical review of the key motives for the design of constructed languages. The author comes to the conclusion that studying language construction makes it possible to take a holistic approach to the study of natural language as a phenomenon.

The article gives a classification of the texts of Italian press conferences depending on the grade of their capability to bring persuasion or informativity, reviews their main characteristics in the field of linguistics, determines the correlation between the dialogical and monological parts and indicates external factors that affect the nature of texts of the kind.

The article offers a review of terminological (etymological) doublets in the Persian language, their use in the context of the military and technical sublanguage. The study also presents examples of autochthonous and borrowed etymological doublets. The article offers the probable reasons for the substitution of the autochthonous term by the "allochthonous". The study covers the problem of predicting the success or allowability of replacing Persian language terms with borrowed foreign equivalents by an interpreter.

The present study is devoted to the study of the correlation of such related semantic phenomena as wide-meaning and polysemy. The material of the study was the dictionary definitions of anthroponyms from the explanatory dictionaries of the modern French language. By means of the method of analysis, common features and differences between eurysemia and polysemy are established. Various points of view of domestic and foreign linguists and cognitive scientists are given on the problem under study. The concepts of wide-meaning and polysemy are presented as interrelated, but not identical.

The article investigates the main figurative, semantic and frequency characteristics of expressions belonging to cognitive metaphors Fear is a Substance and Fear is an Object based on the extensive material of Italian fiction corpora. Differences are revealed in the choice of metaphors for describing fear, terror and panic, as well as various aspects of the fear frame. The patterns of creating novel metaphorical expressions associated with the peculiarities of underlying cognitive metaphors are analyzed.

The article gives a short review of the latest German linguistics’ studies on the issue of history and tradition for generic masculine usage in German language and considers the complex relationship between the syntactic gender and the semantic gender. Further to that usage cases of masculine nouns with generic reference are dissected. The conclusion about a certain rivalry between generic masculine and relatively new gender-marked language forms is drawn.

The article examines German sources of the image of Ahasverus in the Russian literature of the first half of the 19th century. It studies the peculiarities of its interpretation in the works of Russian writers - in the “Ahasuerus, a Poem in Fragments” and the novel “The Last Colonna” by Wilhelm Küchelbecker, and also in the epic poem by Vasily Zhukovsky “The Wandering Jew”. The author traces the connection of these works with the German literary, in particular, with the the works of representatives of the “Sturm und Drang” (“Storm and Stress”) movement, and reveals the features of interpretation of the Ahasverus plot in the first half of the 19th century Russian literature.

This article suggests a definition of the genre of D. S. Merezhkovsky’s trilogy consisted of three parts: "The Mystery of Three: Egypt and Babylon" (1925), "The Mystery of the West: Atlantis- Europe" (1930), "Jesus Unknown" (1932-1934). There identify the peculiar properties of the type of work, theme, composition, style, form of presentation of the material . The trilogy is a detailed evidence of the basic religious and philosophical ideas of the writer on the historical and cultural material. The composition based on reasoning with the argument by analogy and reliance on authority. The peculiar properties typical for the scientific style are highlighted in the language: complex constructions, abundance of clarifications, generalizations, definitions and explanations. Itis concluded that the trilogy can be called the religious-philosophical treatise.

This article examines the rural traditional architecture in the context of the problem of regional identity. Various types of Sicilian rural architecture are described and analyzed in terms of their identity potential. On the basis of contemporary publications and data on the revival of masseria and the tradition of dry stone, it is concluded that nowadays they are perceived as an integral part of the image of rurality of Sicily and interpreted by researchers as a marker of Sicilian identity.
