Representation of the Category of ‘Emotions’ in English Media Texts on the Military Topic

Abstract

The article aims to consider the specific features of the representation of the category of Emotions in English media text covering military topics. The analysis of the corpus of British and American articles from leading media sources ascertains the status of the category of Emotions as a communicative category. The study focuses on the lexical representatives of the conceptual space Emotions in English military discourse, as well as reveals the correlation between different semantic zones of the aforementioned conceptual space within the framework of articles on the military topic.
