ORIGINAL ARTICLE ANALYSIS OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF JUST / UNJUST WARS AS FORMULATED BY SAINT AUGUSTINE IN HIS TREATISE “THE CITY OF GOD”

SAVITSKIY S.G.

Abstract

The article provides an analytical review of Saint Augustine’s Christian attitude towards war. His concept of just / unjust war, as outlined in his treatise “The City of God”, has its own foundation and principles. The main principle is the need to categorise wars as just or unjust before making a moral or Christian assessment. The article highlights and examines the characteristics of wars that can be identified in the theological treatise of Saint Augustine. Based on an in-depth analysis of his approach to the concept of war, a general overview of his theory is proposed. It is shown that Augustine’s approach to the phenomenon of war can be characterised as a middle way. His ideas, although they can be used by representatives of both pacifist and militaristic schools of thought, avoid extremes. Saint Augustine attempts to strike a balance, justifying a just war as a lesser evil and as an attribute exclusively of the earthly city.

THE PHENOMENON OF CONSCIENCE IN THE DOMESTIC JUDICIAL TRADITION

YASHIN A.N.

Abstract

This article examines a centuries-old dilemma: what categories, concepts and meanings should be primarily used by a subject of law enforcement, in particular, a judge, when administering justice. At first glance, the answer is obvious - the law. But is everything so clear in this statement of the answer? Realising the depth and complexity of the problem, the legislator relatively recently introduced into legal circulation, in Article 17 of the Russian Criminal Procedure Code, the moral category of “conscience”, thereby emphasising its importance and necessity in assessing evidence, and ultimately, in determining the guilt or innocence of a person in his act. In a historical and philosophical context, the author of the article sets out his own position on the problem of the relationship between law and conscience in the tradition of domestic justice, based on the philosophical and legal views of both Russian thinkers and Western classics of philosophy, making a certain conclusion about the need for a moral and legal link, the parity of the principles of law and conscience in assessing a legal fact (act), establishing the guilt or innocence of a person, imposing a punishment or exemption from it.

FROM FRAGMENTATION TO WHOLENESS: PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE GESTALT APPROACH IN SOCIAL PRACTICE

LANKINA M.Y.

Abstract

This article explores the philosophical foundations of the Gestalt approach as a means of overcoming the fragmentation of human experience in contemporary society. The author analyses the key ideas of phenomenology, existentialism, and holism that underpin Gestalt therapy and demonstrates how these principles are applied not only in psychotherapeutic practice but also within a broader socio-philosophical context. Special attention is given to the concept of wholeness as an ethical-anthropological category and as a foundation for a dialogical and mindful life in a risk society. The Gestalt approach is presented as a way of restoring the connection between the bodily, emotional, and cognitive levels of human existence, making it a relevant tool for both philosophical and social practice. The article concludes by emphasising the importance of Gestalt philosophy as a resource for humanistic thinking and a culture of presence in conditions of social instability.

GRAHAM HARMAN’S ARGUMENTS AGAINST THE “PHILOSOPHY OF ACCESS”

POUCHKOV D.B.

Abstract

The article examines Graham Harman’s arguments against the “philosophy of access” which is the conceptual basis of contemporary philosophical antirealism. The author outlines the key principles of the philosophy of access, and mentions four of Harman’s arguments against this doctrine. The article shows that the philosophy of access is a very heterogeneous movement, and its basic concepts, such as “mind” and “reality outside of mind”, are interpreted differently by its proponents. The author notes that many of Harman’s arguments lack clarity, since he does not give a precise definition of the concepts of “mind” and “reality outside of mind”, and does not indicate which varieties of the philosophy of access he intends to criticise. The author concludes that in their current form, the four arguments mentioned above fail to refute the philosophy of access.

MONETARY ATTITUDES AND MORAL QUALITIES: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF PSYCHOLOGY-PEDAGOGY AND ENGINEERING STUDENTS

LEZHNEVA E.Y.

Abstract

The article presents the results of a comparative study of monetary attitudes and moral characteristics among students in the psychological-pedagogical and technical fields. The relevance of the study is driven by the need to explore the relationship between financial behaviour and moral-ethical aspects of personality in the context of professional socialisation. The following methods were used in the study: D. A. Bayazitova’s and T. A. Lapshova’s scale; A. Furnham’s Money Attitude Scale; the “friend-adviser-2” method for assessing moral choice characteristics; and G. Carlo’s and B. A. Randall’s Prosocial Tendencies Measure. The findings reveal that technical students exhibit a more emotional and pragmatic attitude toward money compared to future psychologists and educators, who show less interest in money while displaying higher levels of moral orientation and empathy. The obtained data highlight the influence of professional training on the formation of the moral component of monetary attitudes, which can be considered when developing differentiated moral education programmes for students in different fields of study

SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE MENTALITY OF THE X, Y AND Z GENERATIONS MANIFESTED IN THE SITUATION OF CHOOSING CONSUMER GOODS

KIRKIN S.S.

Abstract

He article is devoted to the study of the socio-psychological features of the mentality of generations X, Y and Z, manifested in the situation of choosing consumer goods. Based on empirical data collected using a set of psychodiagnostic techniques, differences in types of mentality, personality traits, attitudes of perception of social objects, as well as in the structure and motivation of conspicuous consumption were revealed. It is shown that representatives of different generations use consumption as a tool for socialisation, self-affirmation and identification, but they do it in different ways: Generation X relies on the values of prestige and functionality, Generation Y - on a balance between status and individuality, Generation Z - on creativity, fashion and self-expression in the digital space. The results obtained can be used in the development of differentiated marketing strategies and in the study of the transformation of consumer culture in a post-industrial society.

INTELLIGENT NAVIGATION IN THE CONCEPT OF NEUROINTUITION

YAGUDIN D.R., PAVLOVA I.V.

Abstract

This article explores the relationship between intelligent navigation and neurointuition, suggesting a new perspective on decision-making and orientation in complex situations. We see neurointuition not just as an intuitive insight, but as a complex cognitive process based on unconscious information processing, accumulated experience and neural networks of the brain. The article analyses various aspects of intellectual navigation, including the role of neurointuition in decision-making. We investigate how neurointuition influences strategy selection, risk assessment, and prioritisation under uncertainty. Mechanisms of neurointuition: the neurophysiological foundations of neurointuition are considered, including the activity of various brain regions (for example, the prefrontal cortex, amygdala) and the role of neurotransmitters. The concept of neurointuition opens up new perspectives for optimising performance in key areas of human practice where traditional analytical methods face limitations under conditions of uncertainty, time pressure, or information overload. Its practical significance is revealed through the prism of bioalgorithmic support for intelligent navigation - the process of constructing and correcting cognitive maps of reality for effective goal setting and adaptive behaviour. It is not enough just to state the existence of this connection; it is necessary to analyse exactly how neurointuition acts as a key tool in the process of intellectual navigation, especially in conditions where rational analysis is limited or impossible.

AGE AND GENDER FEATURES OF THE INTENSITY OF ORIENTATION TOWARD PHYSICAL APPEARANCE COMPARISONS

PIROGOVA O.D.

Abstract

The article examines the relationship between orientation toward comparison of physical appearance, social comparisons, and life satisfaction in different age and gender groups. The study involved 196 respondents aged 14 to 75 years. To analyse the data, mathematical data processing methods such as one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation analysis were used. The study emphasises that with age, there is a reassessment of values and a change in priorities, which affects the perception of one’s own appearance and satisfaction with life. The results show that adolescents who frequently compare their appearance with others may experience dissatisfaction with themselves and their lives. However, as they grow older, the focus shifts from external characteristics to internal qualities, achievements, and life circumstances. The work notes that the development of self-awareness and self-esteem, changes in social roles and expectations, accumulation of life experience, and the influence of the environment are all factors that can influence orientation toward comparison and life satisfaction in different age groups. This work emphasises the importance of understanding these relationships for developing effective strategies for supporting and developing personality at different stages of life. The results may be useful for psychologists, teachers, parents, and anyone interested in issues of personality development and life satisfaction in different age groups.
