Comparative analysis of verbs characterizing the content of speech in English and Russian

Rashidkhanova P.B., Alieva D.S.

Abstract

the article provides a comparative analysis of verbs characterizing the content of speech in English and Russian. Verbs that characterize the content of speech describe speech according to the peculiarities of choosing the subject of speech, the content and capacity of information, objectivity, influencing someone, agreement, disagreement in conversation, expressions of indignation, denial. This group of verbs represents a large number of subcategories with the semantics "significance of the reported", "reciprocity of the speech act", "deviation from the truth", "self-praise". In both English and Russian, they can be expressed in various ways and means. In English, there is a lesser role of metaphorization in involving verbs of various lexico-semantic groups than in Russian. In Russian, a variety of meanings is achieved by attaching different affixes to the same root. Therefore, Russian affixal formations have a wide range of verb derivatives that express different shades of refinement depending on the nature of the action. Most of these verbs have multiple meanings. Their meaning is revealed only in context. These meanings are combined in the semantic structure of the verbs of this group with the meaning of thinking, behavior, and action.

Some features of representation of conflict in the media

Akhmetgareeva O.F., Tkachenko A.V.

Abstract

the article considers some features of representation of conflict in the media. Certainly, discrepancies of opinions, views, values and ideological attitudes and their verbal expression, which sometimes lead to armed confrontation, cannot but arouse research interest. In this work, some features of covering the conflict through the prism of linguistic science are studied. The variety of linguistic means, which are skillfully used by specialists in the field of media communications, allows creating the foreign policy image of different countries that corresponds to the set goals and is consistent with the policy pursued by the state. Public opinion regarding a particular event is formed mainly under the influence of the media, which own and implement various manipulation technologies in order to influence the mass addressee. Accordingly, given the increased number of conflicts (in 2024, almost 200 thousand conflicts and clashes were recorded in the world), the number of publications covering the stated problem is also growing, which determines the exceptional relevance of this work. The analysis of conflict-marked articles conducted by the authors allows us to conclude that the images and stereotypes existing in society regarding a particular state are a product of the presentation of events in the media, which means that special attention should be paid to the methods and techniques of interpreting conflicts in the media, as well as the features of conflict representations in social networks.

Impact of digital marketing on theater attendance

Seluykov A.A.

Abstract

according to global trends, theatrical activities, including marketing strategies, should evolve dynamically through the prism of digitalization. This aspect allows us to take a fresh look at the most relevant approaches to creating, promoting, and delivering the final product to regular and potential theater-goers. Given the aging of the permanent target audience, it is important to attract young people to watching performances and musicals, whose attention today is mainly focused on gadgets and the Internet. Virtual services play an important role in theater attendance, form a cultural organization in an innovative way, and also provide a "permanent presence" of the theater in the virtual space, including among geeks who are passionate about cutting–edge technologies. Digital marketing helps to take into account the individual needs and values of users of online services, as well as transform theatrical productions into a completely new unique format that can attract the attention of people of any age. The most effective marketing strategies that have a positive impact on theater attendance are the Competitive Strategy Matrices of M. Porter and I. Ansoff, which incorporate digital technologies and communication channels to maximize their marketing efforts.

Extralinguistic features of the woman concept formation in Crimean Tatar and English linguistic cultures (early – late Middle Ages)

Ganieva E.S., Mevlyutova A.O.

Abstract

the following article investigates extralinguistic features of the WOMAN concept formation in Crimean Tatar and English linguistic cultures. The study aims to establish extralinguistic factors that influenced the concept’s evolution in Crimean Tatar and English cultures. To achieve the goal it is necessary to solve the following tasks: to identify formation features of the WOMAN concept in different periods based on the study of historical sources, folklore and literary works reflecting social, cultural and philosophical ideas about women in both cultures; to consider the influence of religious and legal norms on the formation of ideas about women in each of the studied cultures. As a result of the study, both common features and significant differences in the perception of the female image in these two cultural traditions were revealed. To both cultures common is the perception of a woman as a continuer of the family line, a faithful wife, a keeper of the family hearth and traditions. In folklore genres, a positive female heroine often acts as a symbol of wisdom, loyalty and strength. In both cultures, the religious factor (Islam and Christianity) contributed to the formation of ideas about woman. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the following materials in the practice of teaching the Crimean Tatar and English languages, when reading theoretical and practical courses devoted to issues of linguacultural studies, intercultural communication and comparative-historical linguistics.

Gender aspects of expressing stupidity in English paremiology

Bakhaeva L.M., Magomadova T.D., Burenko L.V.

Abstract

the article examines the gender aspects of expressing foolishness in English paremiology. The introduction highlights the relevance of studying proverbs as reflections of cultural stereotypes related to the perception of male and female intellect. The authors analyze how historically established patriarchal norms influenced the formation of sayings that reinforce the idea of women’s "innate" irrationality and men’s foolishness as a consequence of overconfidence. The research material includes a corpus of English proverbs from historical collections, analyzed through the lens of their socio-cultural context. Methods involved comparative lexical analysis, contextual interpretation, and tracking the historical dynamics of linguistic norms. Results show that in English paremiology, female foolishness is often associated with emotionality and "natural" limitations, while male foolishness is linked to rashness and pride. Proverbs mocking women quantitatively dominate, reflecting the male perspective in traditional folklore. The discussion emphasizes that such stereotypes served as tools to maintain gender hierarchy, though their role has gradually diminished in modern egalitarian society. Special attention is paid to language evolution: outdated proverbs persist as historical relics, often used ironically. The study contributes to understanding the interplay between language, culture, and gender stereotypes, underscoring the need for critical reinterpretation of paremiological heritage. The findings can be applied in linguistics, cultural studies, and gender studies to analyze the mechanisms of social norm formation and transformation.

The rhematic dynamics of emotive verbs in A.P. Chekhov's short story (based on the material of A.P. Chekhov's short story “A Day in the Country”)

Su L.

Abstract

the article examines the thematic dynamics of emotive verbs in A.P. Chekhov’s short story “A Day in the Country”, focusing on their role in shaping the narrative’s emotional depth and psychological portrayal of characters. Using the structure, the study employs a linguo-stylistic analysis to explore the placement of emotive verbs within the rheme structure of sentences. Methodologically, it combines contextual analysis of micro-situations, syntactic modeling, and assessment of the pragmatic function of verbs within the narrative perspective. The results reveal that Chekhov strategically positions emotive verbs (e.g., “rejoiced,” “upset,” “agitated”) in rhematic positions to highlight pivotal emotional states, creating subtext and guiding reader attention. These verbs generate a wave-like rhythm of emotional tension, enhancing the story’s psychological complexity. The discussion emphasizes the interplay between rheme dynamics and Chekhov’s minimalist style, where lexical and syntactic precision compensates for descriptive brevity. A key finding is the ambivalence of emotions, conveyed through contrasts between external events and implicit inner turmoil. The study underscores how rheme dynamics contribute to the “twilight” emotionality typical of Chekhov’s prose, where feelings are revealed indirectly. This research enriches understanding of emotional expressiveness in short fiction and advances methodologies for analyzing narrative strategies in classical literature.

Representation of family values in the speech of residents of the Belgorod region

Ozerova E.G., Maksimenko V.V., Zyuzina I.S., Chebotareva I.M.

Abstract

family values represent national-cultural and individual-author factors of modern speech. The purpose of the article is to analyze the functioning of family values in the modern speech of residents of the Belgorod region. The leading method of identifying family values is the hermeneutic method, thanks to which the value-semantic content of the speech of residents of the Belgorod region is identified and interpreted. Research objectives: 1. To present the conceptual relationship of the terms code – code of culture – cultural code. 2. To consider family culture as a linguocultureme – a complex inter-level unit that represents linguistic and extralinguistic content. 3. To identify the specifics of the functioning of family values in the speech of residents of the Belgorod region. In the context of globalization and rapid technological progress, there is a risk of losing traditional forms of communication, so the relevance of studying the national and cultural specifics of speech, especially in the context of active changes occurring in modern reality, becomes the topic of a comprehensive study, since understanding and respect for the cultural code of a region are key in the verbalization of value-semantic attitudes. In the article, family values are understood as a set of beliefs and traditions that are formed within the representatives of a family and passed on from generation to generation, thanks to which the spiritual and moral uniqueness of the family's way of life is formed, historical memory and national and cultural identity are preserved, which allows us to talk about the cultural code of the family.

Methodology of researching lexico-phraseological means representing the cognitive scenario of the “life cycle of an object”: structural-semantic, cognitive-discursive, and comparative aspects of analysis

Yan Z.

Abstract

the article is devoted to the study of lexico-phraseological means that represent the cognitive scenario of the “life cycle of an object” through the integration of structural-semantic, cognitive-discursive, and comparative methods of analysis. The aim of the work is to identify universal and culturally specific mechanisms of verbalizing the stages of an object’s existence (emergence, development, peak, decline, conclusion) in various language systems. The focus of the research is on metaphorical models, idioms, and lexical units that reflect the conceptualization of temporal dynamics in language. The methodology is based on the analysis of text corpora, including scientific, journalistic, and literary sources, using componential, contextual, and substitution analyses. The structural-semantic approach allowed for the systematization of linguistic means according to the stages of the life cycle, revealing dominant metaphors (for example, anthropomorphic ones such as “the birth of an idea” and “the death of a project”). The cognitive-discursive analysis uncovered the variability of interpretations depending on the communicative context, while the comparative aspect demonstrated discrepancies in the representation of the scenario among languages, caused by cultural and historical factors. The results showed that the universality of basic concepts (“birth,” “death”) is combined with the specificity of their linguistic embodiment. For example, in some cultures, plant metaphors predominate (“wilting of an initiative”), whereas in others, technological ones are more common (“system reboot”). Gaps were identified in the description of transitional stages (a brief peak), as well as differences in the evaluative connotations of idioms. The discussion emphasizes the interdisciplinary significance of the work: the results are relevant for cognitive linguistics, cultural studies, and translation studies. The hypothesis that the linguistic representation of the life cycle reflects not only objective reality but also the mental attitudes of language speakers has been confirmed. The study contributes to the understanding of the role of metaphors as a tool for conceptualizing time and change, as well as expanding the methodological base for comparative studies from a cross-cultural perspective.

Ways and models of expressing masculinity in the Russian-language media discourse

Iskenderov M.G.

Abstract

the purpose of the study is to examine the system of gender markers in Russian-language media discourse and to identify the features of nominations of femininity and masculinity in the media space. The article discusses the anthropocentric approach to studying gender issues in modern Russian; for the first time, a systematic analysis of models of expressing masculinity in modern Russian-language media discourse was conducted. Media discourse reflects all linguistic processes and represents gender stereotypes in modern Russian. The androcentric value paradigm is reflected not only in the linguistic worldview of the Russian language but also in the linguistic worldviews of many other languages with an ancient history. Masculinity occupies a central place in the linguistic culture of most ethnic groups. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that, for the first time, a systematic analysis of models of expressing masculinity in modern Russian-language media discourse has been carried out. As a result of the research, it was established that gender stereotypes in the Russian language manifest themselves at all levels of the language system. This is particularly evident at the lexical level. Masculine words in the lexicon (as well as feminine words) actively function in media discourse and carry evaluative meanings. The contemporary lexical system is very dynamic, containing a large number of new masculine formations, which indicates an ongoing tendency to express androcentric gender characteristics at the lexical level. The vocabulary used to name men based on social parameters has a distinctly negative connotation, as is the case with the lexical unit “скуф.” When considering the system of masculinity reflected in media discourse, it is important to note that the model of representing masculinity in the Russian language corresponds to the hierarchy of the language system.

Albakova M.M.

Abstract

the article examines the features of the poetry of the Ingush poet Girikhan Gagiev. The facets of his skill are considered. The heroes of Gagiev's poetic works are active, purposeful people. His poems are characterized by chiseled rhythms. His subtle ability to use the oral and poetic richness of the Russian and Ingush peoples shows him to be an unsurpassed master. His creative style is based on oratorical tonality, which contributes to the design of works in rhythmically clear half-verses, as well as a rhyming system, constructions and activation of the tonic element. Even today, the poet's ideological and aesthetic principles are perceived as advanced. They are conditioned by many facts of reality, generated by the phenomena of national life, which put their stamp on them. New things in life became new in poetry. To successfully influence a contemporary, the poet uses new rhyming possibilities, the emotional intensity of his words is strong, the statements sound categorical.

Features of the title of the social project text

Gavrilenko N.A.

Abstract

the title as the most important element of the text has become the object of research in the works of a number of Russian scientists. The title is characterized by brevity and a fixed position, implements the communicative strategy of the authors and expresses the main theme of the text. The purpose of the study is to consider the role of the subject and predicate, modeling a specific speech situation, to analyze the productive types of syntactic constructions and to study the types of axiological concepts realized in the titles. The conducted analysis showed that the constructions used in the titles of the texts of social projects are directly related to the semantic organization of the text; non-verbal (paralinguistic) means perform a significant function in a number of titles. The titles of the texts implement communicative strategies of information and influence and represent a “core” proposition expressing the most important topic (topic) based on the conducted analysis of the text. The analysis of projects posted on open competition platforms showed the productivity of nominative, generalized-personal constructions and two-part constructions with a nominal compound predicate: generalized-personal constructions are represented mainly by proverbs, sayings and set expressions, in which cultural concepts are realized. The practical significance of the study lies in determining the mechanisms for implementing the high pragmatic potential of the titles of social project texts. The absence of a predicate (action) in the titles of social project texts is due to the actualization of the result of actions (the goal of the project) in the message, and not the actions themselves (the process). The main information carriers in the titles of social project texts are keywords, which are stable thematic components and search queries on the Internet and electronic catalogs. A number of social project texts use specific vocabulary expressing the relevance and novelty of the idea, and in some cases allowing to graduate the degree of expression of these features.

Value component of the concept "love" in the paroemiological space (based on English, Russian and Urdu)

Bhatti N.V., Savchenko E.P.

Abstract

we undertake a comparative analysis of the value components of the concept “love” on the material of proverbs and sayings in languages with different structure: Russian, English and Urdu. The structural-semantic models of proverbs and sayings in the studied linguocultures are determined, linguocognitive modeling of the semantic field “love”, defined by the authors as not just a fundamental national-cultural formation, but universal for many national pictures of the world, including the studied ones, is carried out. As a result, we establish that there are differences in the conceptual bases of the studied phenomenon, despite its universality, which can be explained by the difference of key domains organizing the concept “love”. It is proved that proverbs and sayings in English are less metaphorical, categorical and didactic in contrast to Urdu and Russian. The data obtained as a result of the study can be used in further analysis of key fragments of the national-cultural code, including research in the field of value dominants and “us–them” oppositions.

The value component of the political discourse of the post-Soviet countries

Akhmetgareeva O.F., Pankova V.V., Simonova S.V.

Abstract

for centuries, value orientations have been an essential component both in society as a whole and in the life of every person. Being the basis of the communicative actions of government structures and the political elite, which seek to form a particular public opinion, values somehow influence the ideological attitudes of society. Accordingly, it is possible to talk about the manipulative potential of communicative influence in political discourse, where linguistic structures with powerful pragmatic potential containing value-marked texts are successfully implemented. Effective implementation of manipulative strategies through the use of mechanisms of political discourse is possible largely due to the correct selection of various linguistic means [9]. The relevance of the research is determined by the fact that the verbal realization of values in political discourse is a complex process of presenting linguistic means in terms of composition and methods, and values themselves are a significant component of political discourse, determining its specifics and organization. The novelty of the research consists in the study and scientific description at the level of modern linguistic theory of linguistic means that actualize the value component of political discourse. The formation of political discourse in some post-Soviet countries takes place in a dynamically changing political environment, which is why the analysis of linguistic means that implement the value bases of cognitive structures that political elites broadcast to the audience, lobbying their interests, is increasingly becoming relevant and important. The purpose of this work is to study the value component in the political discourse of some post-Soviet countries. As a result of the research, the authors identify the most significant linguistic means representing the value component in the described type of discourse.

Transformation of regional media under the influence of multimedia and convergence

Chen F.

Abstract

this article examines the problem of regional media development in the context of digital transformation. Studying the process of transformation of traditional regional editorial offices is impossible without understanding the needs of the modern audience. The study focused on the qualitative change in consumer behavior regarding information in general. The optimal structure of multimedia news is identified, which is a combination of multimedia tools that provide technical simplicity, accessibility and understandability, and then save time on familiarization with the content. It has been established that at the level of editorial structures there is a tendency towards transformation. However, this process cannot be called complete. Most of the surveyed regional editorial offices only apply the principle of convergence at the editorial level, having, rather, experimental types of new editorial structures.

Li Y.A., Ruliene L.N.

Abstract

the success of teachers' professional work largely depends on their readiness to learn and develop throughout their working life. Due to the fact that in the modern system of continuous teacher education it is possible to integrate different formats of training (formal, non-formal, informal), teachers get ample opportunities for continuous personal and professional growth. Mobile learning, considered by the authors in the context of promising models of organizing continuous informal education of teachers, is becoming popular. The aim of the article is to substantiate the feasibility of the Mobile Pedagogical University as a model of learning organization, professional community in a social network. To achieve the goal, the following methods were used: the method of aspect analysis of scientific publications devoted to mobile learning and retrospective analysis of scientific and educational activity within the framework of the federal innovation platform. Results: the authors propose to consider continuing teacher education as flexible, transformative learning and personal development of teachers. In the professional development of teachers it is proposed to integrate models of formal, non-formal and informal education, to introduce mobile learning technologies. Attention is paid to academic skills, time management techniques of teachers. In continuing teacher education it is important to focus on the principles of learning organization: to learn faster, to learn within the organization, to learn outside the organization, to learn vertically. The model of a learning organization, professional community of social network in our view is the Mobile Pedagogical University. The introduction of mobile and interactive methods of professional development of teachers on the basis of integration of modern educational technologies (2021-2023) allowed us to organize seminars, exhibition-salon, master classes in online mode. An educational intensive “Teacher of the 21st century: lecturer and designer” was organized for young teachers to master actual competences: “hard” (didactic and methodological), ‘soft’ (digital) and self-efficacy competencies. In the near future, the Mobile Pedagogical University will become an informal organizational and pedagogical mechanism in the structure of an educational organization, a social professional network. It is also necessary to solve the problem of formalizing the participation of teachers in the work of the Mobile Pedagogical University.

In the modern world, vocational education is going through a period of dynamic transformations. Not only the education system is changing, but also teenagers' ideas about their future profession. This is due to the development of new technologies, the emergence of new professions and the expansion of career opportunities. In such conditions, an urgent task is to find effective approaches to career guidance work that contribute to the successful professional self-determination of schoolchildren. The purpose of this article is to analyze innovative methods of career guidance and create a model that takes into account modern realities. Career guidance has traditionally been based on comparing the professional qualities of a student with the requirements of a future specialty. However, today, with the expansion of the choice of professions, such an approach may not be enough. It is necessary to develop the skills of teenagers to independently search and analyze information about their profession, taking into account the variability of the labor market. Innovative career guidance methods based on the use of digital technologies can be the answer to this need. By allowing students to explore educational and professional opportunities through digital means, they contribute to the formation of self-determination skills. The article analyzes such techniques and draws up a model of career guidance that meets the challenges of the time.

The influence of Renaissance humanistic ideas on the development of pedagogical thought

Semeleva E.V., Lukyanova T.V., Selezneva N.M.

Abstract

the article explores the transformation of pedagogical thought in the Renaissance (XIV-XVI centuries), due to the transition from scholasticism to humanism. The authors analyze changes in teaching methods, educational goals, and curriculum content influenced by humanistic ideals. The focus is on the key figures of the era: Erasmus of Rotterdam, Tomaso Campanella and Michel de Montaigne. Using the method of historical and pedagogical analysis, the research is based on the works of these thinkers, studying their views on human nature, the goals of education and the role of teachers and students. The comparative study, which includes a quantitative analysis of the frequency of mentions of key pedagogical principles (independent thinking, moral education, individual approach, etc.) in the works of these authors, allows us to identify general trends and specific features of the development of humanistic pedagogy. The results demonstrate the emphasis of humanistic pedagogy on individual personality development, rejection of formalism and orientation towards independent thinking and critical perception of information. The study showed the predominance of the principles of moral education and individual approach in the works of Erasmus of Rotterdam, Campanella and Montaigne. Erasmus emphasized the importance of developing critical thinking and studying classical literature. Campanella, in his "City of the Sun", presented a utopian model of education focused on the harmonious development of personality and social justice. Montaigne, defending a practical approach to learning, emphasized the importance of self-education and the adaptation of methods to the individual characteristics of the student. Quantitative analysis revealed the highest frequency of mentions of independent thinking in Erasmus and Montaigne, while Campanella placed greater emphasis on the social relevance of education. In general, the study confirms the shift from scholastic dogmatism to a humanistic approach that places the student's personality and self-realization at the center of the educational process.

This method will be important in the legal regulation of educational and cognitive connections formed by the investment activities of various entities. The analysis of the educational method of legal regulation is presented exclusively as a direction for the development of investment legislation, and not for the purposes of sectoral division of the legal system. Moreover, it seems that legislative, law enforcement and scientific-educational implementation in a particular sphere of legal relations does not depend on the legal community in which these relations are located. It is noted that the educational component of the method of legal regulation is to some extent present in investment activities. The norms of investment law containing such a method are given in this article. However, their volume and quality do not allow this set of provisions of investment legislation to be perceived as a method of legal regulation, that is, such a method should be recognized as underdeveloped in this area of legal relations. At the same time, investment activity presupposes a certain unity of public and private law, since the development of this sphere is impossible without the positive experience of the majority of its subjects. Therefore, also taking into account that education and training are an integral part of the vital interests of a person, society, and the state, the recommended conditions for the education and training of investment activity subjects, presented as an educational method for regulating investment law, are pursued by both private and public interests. A sufficient volume and quality of the relevant material will influence the qualitative formation of the general method of investment law.

Stefanov A.G.

Abstract

Dispositive features and the principle of freedom of contract allow the parties to set the terms of their mutual obligations. However, it is not always possible to unambiguously interpret the legal relations that arise in the context of this and the consequences of using these privileges and bonuses. The article examines the implementation and limitation of the principle of freedom of contract in the legal relations of the parties established through loyalty programs, forms the author's definition of the digital loyalty score, as well as its marketability, legal aspects of applicability and disputes related to the implementation of the rights of affiliated entities – owners of digital units. The main purpose of this work is to determine the possibilities of applying the principle of freedom of contract and its limitations, and to describe legal relations within the framework of loyalty programs. In addition, it seems important to the author to form the author's definition of the digital loyalty score, to identify the marketability of this object, to consider the practice and problems of the possibility of legal protection in these legal relations.

Exclusion of burdeness conditions from the adhesion contract

Putninsh A.A.

Abstract

public contracts and adhesion contracts are special structures and, despite the sufficient period of application of the rules governing them, continue to attract attention. In this regard, it seems interesting to discuss a number of practical proposals presented in this article. The possibility of adjusting a public contract that is not an adhesion contract before its conclusion in the part not determined by the rules and tariffs binding on the parties contrasts with the exclusion of such a possibility in relation to accession contracts. Which at first glance seems quite natural, given the purpose and meaning of the accession agreement – saving resources of various kinds. In order to balance the privileges granted for the unilateral determination of the terms of the adhesion contract, an institution for changing or terminating the adhesion contract is provided on the basis of paragraph 2 of Article 428 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation. The institution of changing or terminating an adhesion contract is quite relevant for the latest judicial practice and is obviously aimed at excluding unfair and onerous terms from the contract. Ensuring guarantees of the rights of the weaker party to the contract, which, due to the weakness of its negotiating and economic capabilities, is unable to exclude obviously unfavorable conditions from the terms of contracts without the help of the judiciary, is a significant achievement for both the legislator and the law enforcement officer. Ensuring guarantees of the rights of the weaker party to the contract, which, due to weak negotiating and economic capabilities, is unable to exclude obviously unfavorable conditions from the terms of contracts without the help of the judiciary, is a significant achievement of both the legislative and judicial authorities. However, the right of the acceding party to terminate or change the adhesion contract, firstly, is provided only after the conclusion of such an agreement, that is, accession to it, and secondly, should not exclude other rights to protect against unfair contractual terms. Another such right or method may be the institution of imposing an obligation to perform certain actions in order to exclude clearly onerous conditions of the adhesion contract before accession to such a contract. The importance of a different procedure for protecting the “weak” party to the contract is determined by the negative consequences associated with the need to fulfill clearly onerous conditions before they are recognized as such by the court.
