In this paper, we consider the existing methods and tools for analyzing the semantic and functional features of audiovisual translation and identify the most suitable ones for studying the lexical and phraseological field “Football” in the Spanish language. The linguistic and extralinguistic aspects of the translation of actual phraseological combinations are studied on the example of a documentary film about football. It is shown that the most important requirements for high-quality audiovisual translation of football topics are the availability of background knowledge, the preservation of the emotional component and the pace of commentators’ speech, taking into account significant differences in the pronunciation of words and phrases in the normative Spanish language. The aim of the work is to identify, analyze and study the features of the ways of translating Spanish-language football documentaries.

The purpose of this applied research is to demonstrate the capabilities of modern software solutions for constructing a balanced linguistic corpus based on natural language processing procedures used at the Laboratory for Fundamental and Applied Issues of Virtual Education at Moscow State Linguistic University. The descriptive method, as well as modeling and forecasting methods, are used during the study. The material of the research is the author’s software package “Balanced Linguistic Corpus Generator and Corpus Manager”. As a result, new functions of the software package are described and the prospects for its development in the form of two parallel directions are outlined.

The article analyzes a televised interview with British Prince Henry in a CBS show with the aim of revealing that media space is an eventful continuum that is structured according to the cyclical and binary principles, which creates conditions for socially presenting oneself as a stranger. Methods of structural, narrative and contextual analysis prove that the key means of creating the I-am-a-stranger image - in this case also a way of showing one’s negative attitude to a social event - are binary oppositions Self vs Family, Self vs Press, and the My-Mother-and-I analogy. The aim of the article is to consider the ways of translating the forms of the stative perfect into Russian. The chosen research method is the comparative analysis. In order to execute the set task, the materials of fiction works available in the bilingual corpus in Bulgarian were selected, in which this form is a frequent one. As a result, the paper identifies the most frequent patterns and regularities of occurrence of various solutions in Russian-language translations on the material of fiction works available in the bilingual corpus. It also determines a set of factors that influence the choice of a form by the translator, and gives instructions for the most accurate rendering of the stative perfect into Russian.

The article aims to highlight the conceptual configurations of additive structures (using the example of the French connecting units en outre, de plus, en plus), considered as a special case of the design of a coordinating connection. Based on corpus data, contexts were selected in which the units under study in the connective function mark the logical-semantic relation of additivity. The work uses the model of coordination structure proposed by R. Langacker. As a result, six conceptual configurations of the studied additive structures were differentiated: a new set, asymmetric subsets, object properties, background asymmetry, focal asymmetry and accumulating symmetry.

In this article, the author aims to explore the translation difficulties faced by simultaneous interpreters working in the Turkish-Russian language combination and to propose effective translation strategies based on their nature. In searching for ways to overcome such difficulties, the author provides an “effort model” proposed by Daniel Gile based on the notion of “effort” as the interpreter’s main resource. The study is conducted on the material of speeches of officials of the Republic of Turkey. In conclusion, the author identifies the causes of the main difficulties and their impact on the distribution of translation “effort” by means of the above mentioned model, and on their basis gives recommendations on the application of translation strategies and tactics.

The article deals with evaluating of documentation support for international events from the point of view of translation and interpreting services. The authors studied various types of documents handled before and during several large-scale and medium-scale international events held in Russia over the past 15 years, including documents submitted to translators and interpreters. The primary research methods were observation and comparison. The purpose of the study is to identify the major criteria for evaluation of documentation support and to create a basis for developing practical guidelines addressed to event hosts, language service providers, translators and interpreters.

The purpose of the article is to consider the content and evolution of the concept of “man” in the Spanish national picture of the world, represented in the Castilian language of the XVII-XVIII centuries. The Spanish dictionaries of the XVII-XVIII centuries served as the research material. Based on the method of analyzing semantic fields, the method of component analysis, logical-semantic, diachronic methods and the method of cultural and historical analysis, the authors managed to establish the scope and content of the concept of “man” in the Spanish lexicography of the selected period, as well as to trace its transformation during the development of the Spanish language.

The objective of the research presented in the article was to analyze provenance and modern paradigm of slogans bearing national-socialist connotation and most frequently used in German socio-political discourse. Within the course of the research discourse analysis method along with linguocultural analysis method have been applied. Scientific works of Russian and German linguists dealing with nature and performance of slogans and the Third Reich language as well as publications on German mass media websites for the period 2023-2024 served as research materials. As a result of the research the conclusion about the existence stability of slogans prohibited by law in public debate and social networks is drawn; cases of functional range expansion of the above mentioned slogans along with their infiltration into advertising genre are pointed out.

The article analyzes the author’s understanding of the uniqueness of the “male” and “female” vision of life, which affects the problems, plot-compositional structure, motives reflecting the worldview of a man and a woman using the example of the main characters of the work. The author deliberately brings together the “male” and “female” worlds, clearly highlighting the latter, since in his understanding it is the woman who is the bearer of true knowledge, who allows her to preserve national identity, and can also be stronger than men in difficult life circumstances.

The aim of this study is to reveal the problem of authenticity in the linguo-philosophical space of novels. L. A. Yuzefovich, “Espero Club” (1990) and “Casaroza” (2002). The composition and the system of disclosure of images testify to the importance of authenticity in the artistic fabric of the texts, despite the fact that its presentation in a complex historical and cultural context, language-philosophical discussions and detective genre may make this problem not quite obvious. Starting from Heidegger’s understanding of authenticity, the authors pay attention to such properties as attitudinal sensitivity and the ability to accept the conditions of being.

The aim of the study is to identify symbols characteristic of French culture in the design of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The materials of the study are state Internet resources and mass media, revealing the ideas of Pierre de Coubertin who still remains a controversial figure in the XXI century, images of the Sower, the Gallic rooster, the Phrygian cap, the Belem sail boat emblematic for the French Navy. The article explains the meaning behind featuring the Eiffel Tower on the obverse side of the medal, placed symmetrically with the ancient temple, and the hexagon-shaped piece of iron extracted from the 1889 original Tower embedded in the center of Olympic medals on the reverse side. The article shows how the French authorities provide understanding and valorization of republican ideas at a new turn of history.
