THE METAPHORICAL SPACE OF THE METALANGUAGE OF THE TREATISE “HUANG DI NEI JING”

Abstract

The article explores a metaphorical fragment of the term system of traditional Chinese medicine. The research material was the treatise “Huang Di Nei Jing”. A set of methods was used: the method of definition analysis, contextual analysis, conceptual analysis of metaphorical models as general schemes for establishing connections between different conceptual spheres. Results: the philosophical and conceptual foundations of traditional Chinese medicine are clarified; the main metaphorical models are identified; a comprehensive description of the metaphorical model of representation of subject knowledge about human physiology, symptoms of diseases, methods of treatment and prevention is given - a naturomorphic metaphor forming a multidimensional system of species variants, correlating with such types of conceptual metaphors as artifact and spatial.
