Resumo
The purpose of the study is to identify the linguistic and cultural features of the ARMY concept in the Chinese worldview as the basis for the formation of the PLA’s image. Methods include definitional-etymological analysis of lexemes, component analysis of hieroglyphs, semantic-cognitive analysis of phraseological units and linguo-cognitive frame analysis of the concept. The research material was based on data from Chinese language explanatory and etymological dictionaries, as well as phraseological units. The results show that the ARMY concept in Chinese linguistic culture has a utilitarian meaning, which includes three main aspects: the army as a unit, the military as a social group and military affairs as a ctraft. The practical value of the work lies in the possibility of using the results in the training of military translators and specialists in cooperation with China.
