THE GOSPEL BEGINNING OF THE SLAVIC WRITTEN TRADITION

Karpenko L.

Resumo

The article analyses the linguosemiotic analysis of the content basis of the first Slavonic writing systemin the context of Cyril and Methodius heritage and the most important creedal text of Christianity - the Creed. Therelevance is determined by the insufficient study of the initial link of the Slavic written tradition. The problem of theresearch is to find out the meaningful connection of the initial Slavic writing system with the Evangelical Christologicalcomplex. The aim of the research is to show the significance of the right faith complex for the activity of the creatorsof Slavonic writing, saints Cyril and Methodius, and the reflection in the first Slavonic alphabet of the Evangelicalmeaning complex about Christ. Methods: textual analysis of the Cyril and Methodius heritage, semiotic analysis of theGlagolitic system, cultural analysis of the historical context. The material is texts of the Cyril and Methodius canon andthe semiotic system of Glagolitic. The main results and conclusions: the significance of the content complex of the rightfaith reflected in the texts of Cyril and Methodius heritage is shown; its dominant meanings related to the glorificationof the Holy Trinity and the affirmation of the dogmas about Christ are highlighted; the Christological content basis ofGlagolitic alphabet, its correlation with the Evangelical Christological dogmas of the Creed is substantiated. Theconnection between the alphabet and the Creed is reflected in the matrix signs that focus the Messianic idea. It isconcluded that both the missionary activity of the Solunian brothers and the creation of the Slavonic script were subordinated to their theological preaching activity aimed at affirming the complex of the right faith enshrined in the Nicene-Tsaregrad Creed. The significance of the study lies in the affirmation of the evangelical beginning of the Slavic written tradition.

IMPLEMENTATION OF BORIS LARIN’S CONCEPT OF THE SPOKEN EVERYDAY RUSSIAN LANGUAGE IN THE PAST AND THE PRESENT

Kostiuchuk L.

Resumo

In the middle of the 20th century, the problems of formation and development of the modern Russianlanguage with the explanation of its structure as a national language were actively discussed in Russian linguistics. Inthe system of philological and philosophical discussion of this problem, B. A. Larin proposed an idea, relevant for itssolution, but not yet satisfactorily substantiated, of understanding the essence and formation of spoken Russian as partof the national language, taking into account the lexical level. To achieve this goal, according to B. A. Larin, it isnecessary to analyze in detail the linguistic material of different centuries, which, in turn, will allow to establish theperiod of formation of the national language. The combination of synchronic and diachronic approaches to the studyand comprehension of the vocabulary of Russian colloquial speech is reflected in the famous lexicographic works, thedevelopment of which was actively engaged in B. A. Larin together with his students – “Pskov Regional Dictionarywith Historical Data”, “Dictionary of everyday Russian language of Moscow Russia XVI–XVII centuries”. The merit of B. A. Larin’s merit is also the introduction of new sources for the study of colloquial speech of the Russian Middle Ages: “Russian Grammar” by G. Ludolf, a dictionary-diary by R. Jems, etc. The development of the idea of colloquial and colloquial language (studies, dictionaries) proposed by B. A. Larin, confirm the authenticity of the plans and vitality of the Larin scientific school.

STRUCTURAL AND SEMANTIC FEATURES OF ONE RITUAL AND ETIQUETTE FORMULA OF FOLK SPEECH IN THE SITUATION OF WEAVING

Chekina A.

Resumo

The article deals with the ritual and etiquette formula of folk speech (benediction), reproduced in thesituation of weaving (Siden’e vashemu!), in the context of the interaction of ritual and etiquette. In traditionalcommunication ritual and etiquette are a complex, often interrelated cultural phenomenon, influencing the symbolic, mythological and pragmatic functions of folk speech etiquette. The article deals with the analysis of a speech formulaof benevolence in order to reveal its structural and semantic peculiarities in the context of “ritual – etiquette” oppositionand a number of semantic oppositions, following from it: “sacredness – everyday life”, “collectivity – individuality”, “signness – unknowability”. Attention is drawn to the special form of dialogical unity, represented by the stimulus replica (Siden’e vashemu!) and the response replica (Sidet’ po-nashemu!). Attention is focused on the semantic-symbolic bivalence of the lexeme seat as a nuclear component of the formula. The analysis is performed in the ethnolinguistic aspect, which includes the action, verbal and object levels. The conclusion is made about the contaminated meaning of mythological (ritual) and pragmatic (etiquette) subtext in such a situation of one of the everyday rural activities of awoman as weaving.

ACCENTUATION IN THE STRUCTURE OF COMMUNICATIVE DEMONSTRATIVENESS

Tislenkova I.

Resumo

Accentuation plays the leading role in the organization of communicative demonstrativeness, highlightingand transmitting meaningful information about the speaker. The purpose of the study is to identify and describe theproperties and means actualizing accentuation. The interdisciplinary approach and the method of psycholinguisticanalysis of the communicants’ utterances are used. The study shows that the accentuation used to highlight a significantmessage is realized by the combination of emphasis and performance. It is established that the performance is aprocedural act of its author that takes place according to his own scenario with the involvement of the addressee usingan audio-visual perception channel that enhances the psychological impact on the addressee. The linguistic means ofperformance actualization are revealed: nonverbal iconic signs, spectacular appearance of the speaker, speechmanipulation strategies, speech paradox technique, hyperbolic tropes, antithesis, amplifying particles, demonstration ofpositive and negative feelings by prosodic means, repeated use of the pronoun “I”. The property of emphasis is describedto focus the addressee’s attention on the characteristics of the speaker’s personality in order to receive recognition, sympathy, praise or support. The means of expressing emphasis include: lexical repetition, tropes, emotional adverbs, deformed phraseological units, discursive words (lexical means), pausing, chanted speech, high timbre of voice (prosodic means). The results obtained can be used in the course of semiotics and psycholinguistics.

Y. HEILALA’S COMEDY “THE MEETING OF BAKERS”: DOMESTICATION STRATEGY IN THE TRANSLATION OF DRAMATIC TEXT

Bratchikova N.

Resumo

The comparative analysis of the original and translated text is examined in terms of the suitability andrepresentation of the play on the theatrical stage. The article explores translation mismatches identified in the translationof the comedy “The Meeting of Bakers” by Y. Heilala from Finnish to Russian. The research has found that translationmismatches are caused by the desire to make the play suitable for the theatrical stage. The dramatic text sets theparameters for the work followed by the translator and actor. The author of the publication, like many linguists, considersthe translation of theatrical text as a creative adaptation or version. Three factors influencing the choice of translationequivalent in theatrical translation are identified. The determining factor is the requirement of theatricality in translation. The text is just one element of the performance (alongside actors, direction, musical accompaniment, and design). Thesecond factor is the consideration of the auditory perception of the text, which implies not only euphony but also theattractiveness of spoken language. Words undergo the influence of the structural organization of this type of text. Thethird factor is the consideration of the stylistic features of the Russian language. Deictic words and personal pronounsare often used in speech situations. In translation, dialectal expressions can be preserved by replacing them, for example, with colloquial everyday vocabulary. Speaking names (surnames, toponyms) are translated while preserving national color (for example, creating anthroponyms using suffixes typical for the original language). The liveliness of language is a success in translating dramatic texts.

GERMAN AFFIX DEVERBATIVES AND THEIR TAXIS FUNCTIONS

Arkhipova I.

Resumo

This article considers German affixal deverbative nouns in -en, -ung, -t, -e in the aspect of actualizationof their taxis functions, implemented in statements with various prepositions. The purpose of the study is to describe thetaxis functional of deverbatives of various derivational models that inherit the lexical and verbal semantics of generatingverbs and participate in the process of actualization of primary-taxis and second-taxis meanings of simultaneity, precedence and succession. Affixal deverbatives of different lexical and derivational semantics become taxis participants, provided they retain their verbal and taxis semantics, as well as the property of reverbalizability, which allows them to be transformed back into the corresponding generating verbs. Affixal “reverbalizable” deverbatives realize their taxis functions of simultaneity / non-simultaneity in statements containing temporal and other adverbial prepositions. Prepositional-deverbative constructions are transformed into temporal clauses and other adverbial clauses withconjunctions of similar semantics when the deverbative is reverbalized into a generating verb. A diagnostic test forreverbalization confirms their verbal and taxis potencies, contextually realized as specific taxis functions. The mainresearch methods are hypothetical-deductive, inductive, descriptive, contextual and transformational. The results of the study make a certain contribution to the theory of taxis and can be used to conduct further research in the field of functional grammar, analyzing the functionality of verbal names in other languages, including in the comparative typological aspect

THE PRAGMALINGUISTIC ASPECTS OF EVALUATIVENESS IN AN ONLINE MOVIE REVIEW

Galiullina O.

Resumo

Pragmalinguistics considers the relationship between linguistic units and the conditions of theiractualization in a specific communicative and functional context. Evaluativeness in the paradigm of the modernpragmatic approach is actualized at the junction of verbal communication and extralinguistic factors, which makes itone of the central categories of pragmalinguistic analysis. Evaluativeness is one of the genre-forming functions of filmreview. The purpose of this study is to consider the linguistic ways of broadcasting negative evaluation in the Englishlanguagenetwork film review in the totality of their pragmatic aspects. The analysis showed that negative evaluativenessin the absolute majority is transmitted by emotionally expressive vocabulary with negative evaluative semantics. It ispossible to strengthen the negative construction, in which emphatic constructions realize the pragmatic potential of theutterance to draw readers’ attention to a high degree of manifestation of a particular negative quality, thereby moreclearly translates the author’s position and has a perlocative effect. It is also proved that, in addition to the tendency toincrease negative evaluation, there is also a tendency to mitigate it, which is due to the genre features of film review.Among the methods of mitigation in the course of the analysis, we noted the statements of the assumption and the statements of the suggesting expressed by subordinate conditional sentences and the subjunctive mood, as well as the phenomenon of contrasting parts of a compound or complex sentence with the opposite evaluativeness.

RUSSIAN LITERATURE AND NATIONAL LITERATURES OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

ETHNOPOETIC WORLD OF ZOYA DUDINA

Arzamazov A.

Resumo

The article deals with the poems of Zoya Dudina, one of the most famous and artistically originalrepresentatives of modern Mari poetry. The relevance of the topic is due to the versatility of literary talent and thevariety of poetic techniques of the author, as well as the little-studied of her creative concept. The scientific novelty ofthis work is determined by the fact that Z. Dudina’s poems have not been studied in the context of the national traditionand Finno-Ugric literature, as well as the theoretical and methodological underdevelopment of the theme of women’slyrics in the history of Mari literature. The purpose of the work is to analyze the individual author’s features of the Maripoet's artistic picture of the world, the ethno-cultural components and the existential-psychological aspects of thecreative expression, which go back to the folklore and mythology of the Mari people. The main objectives of the studyare to consider the motif-figurative complex (the motif of death, atmospheric and ornithomorphic symbols), theproblem-thematic priorities of the author, individual linguo-aesthetic correspondence with the works of national classics (S. Chavain) and the degree of correlation of the original texts with the Russian translation.

THE BILINGUAL LITERARY WORKS OF NIKOLAI ABRAMOV: SPECIFICS OF THE AUTHOR’S TRANSLATION

Kazakova M., Balandin D.

Resumo

The article considers the specifics of interaction of the bilingual artistic worldview of the Veps writerNikolai Abramov on the example of his author’s translation, as well as the specifics of the transformation of the cultural code when transferred to a second language. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to continue discussing the problems of bilingual literary works, as well as the processes of development of young-written Vepsian literature. The purpose of this article is to analyze the representation of the national picture of the world in bilingualliterary works on the example of the author’s translations of the Veps poet Nikolai Abramov. The research focuses onN. Abramov’s author’s translations of his poems from the Veps language into Russian, which reflects the features ofdialogical thinking of the poet, who writes in two languages. The translations can also be considered as independentworks with new semantic content. In bilingual works Nikolai Abramov strives to convey his ideas using traditional symbols and images available to a native speaker of the language and culture in which the text is written, which also reflect the national consciousness of the people.

POEMS BY V. F. ODOEVSKY AND L. N. MODZALEVSKY IN THE UDMURT TEXTBOOKS OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE 19TH AND THE EARLY 20TH CENTURIES

Кamitova A.

Resumo

The article focuses on the presentation of literary texts in Udmurt academic publications of the secondhalf of the nineteenth and the early twentieth centuries. The relevance of the topic is due to it being insufficiently studiedin Udmurt philology. It is stated that the main corpus chosen as reading and studying materials in national textbookswere the works of Russian writers who acted as «textbook» samples in the Russian curriculum. The aim of the work isto identify the transformational changes in them that occurred during translation. The analysis is carried out on theexample of poems by V. F. Odoevsky and L. N. Modzalevsky using comparative, motivic-figurative and contextualapproaches. It was revealed that the content and semantic parts of the translated versions depended on the socio-cultural and political situation in the country. Over time, the texts from the textbooks migrated to other spheres, were borrowed by poets and introduced into prose texts, acquiring a new intertextual context.

WEDDING CEREMONY ON THE VERKHNYAYA UFTYUGA AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Shchukina U.

Resumo

The article is devoted to the wedding tradition of the upper reaches of the Northern Dvina River. Therelevance of such a study is due to the need to generalize the results of folklore and ethnographic activities in this region. The purpose of the work is to introduce into scientific circulation the recording of a local version of the NorthernRussian wedding ceremony recorded in the village of Verkhnyaya Uftyuga in the Solvychegodsky district of the NorthDvina province (now the Krasnoborsky district of the Arkhangelsk region) in the 1920s. The manuscript (currentlylocated in the archive in the Krasnoborsky Historical Memorial and Art Museum named after S. I. Tupitsin) is the resultof the collection and fixation of folklore tradition by the teacher of the local school O. A. Shestakova. This record of theVerkhneuftyuzhsky wedding ceremony is an isolated case in her collecting practice in the upper reaches of the NorthernDvina River region; its format is close to the field records of modern folklorists. The collector-local historian carriedout fruitful work with the informant: the text contains additional questions and comments on ritual actions; she recordedall phases and persons that are characteristic of the Northern Russian wedding tradition and the lyrics of the songs. Thepublished document is interesting both as a record of one of the local variants of the Northern Russian weddingceremony, and as an organic example of the “golden age” of local history – a period in the history of the developmentof Russian folklore in the system of local lore at the beginning of the XX century. In addition to recording the weddingceremony, the object of research in this article are materials for the biography of the collector. The involvement of insufficiently explored and hard-to-reach sources in the study, their introduction into scientific circulation and a comprehensive commentary constitute the scientific novelty of the work.

SCHOOLS OF THE RUSSIAN LINGUISTICS. RESEMBLANCES AND DIFFERENCIES

Alpatov V.

Resumo

The article compares the main scientific schools that emerged in Russian linguistics in the second half ofthe nineteenth century: the Kharkov school (A. A. Potebnya), the Moscow school (F. F. Fortunatov), and the two schoolsfounded by I. A. Baudouin de Courtenay in Kazan and St. Petersburg. Although each of the schools has been studied ina variety of publications, a systematic comparison of the ideas and methods of these schools has not, as a rule, beenmade. An attempt is made to trace the fate of each of these schools in the twentieth century. While the Kharkov andKazan schools gradually died out, in Moscow and St. Petersburg – Petrograd – Leningrad we can note the continuityand preservation of traditions. Fortunatov’s school preserved the general principles of positivist science of the nineteenthcentury longer than others, but the Moscow school was not accidentally called formal by its opponents. The articleshows how Fortunatov’s desire to rigorously prove his positions and to abandon psychologism contributed to the mostrapid transition of the new generation of the school to structuralism. Baudouin de Courtenay’s ideas were innovativeand anticipated many ideas of twentieth-century language science, but the scholar’s desire to give a psychologicalinterpretation to the phenomena in question was not characteristic of other schools. Often this or that school adopted theideas of other schools, reinterpreting them: the notion of the phoneme, introduced by Baudouin, was adopted by the Moscow school, but was understood not as a psychological one, but as a sense-differentiating one. Both in Moscow and in St. Petersburg a number of traditions still exist today. Consideration of the origins

MARINE TERMS IN UNPUBLISHED WORKS OF ADMIRAL S. I. MORDVINOV MID 18TH CENTURY

Molkov G.

Resumo

The unpublished works of S. I. Mordvinov have not yet come to the attention of linguists and are a newsource for studying the vocabulary of the Russian language of the 18th century. Two essays by this author on maritimeaffairs have been preserved, written at intervals of a couple of decades – in the late 1730s and in 1764. The purpose ofthis study is to describe the changes that the terminological system of the sphere of ship tactics experienced in the useof one author. According to our observations, the later work of 1764 is a revised version of the work of the 1730s.Although each of the manuscripts preserved in the RASL collection has an original, non-coinciding content – someparagraphs, sections, but the main sections coincide, including in headings, sometimes with variations. A comparisonof the terminology of the two treatises shows that the specific terms of ship evolution (i.e., the position of ships information and its changes), in contrast to the more general marine terminology of Mordvinov, are oriented towards French usage. At the same time, in his later work, the gallicization of the terminological system intensifies – at the morphological and phonetic levels. In this way, Mordvinov tries to standardize the terms in this area.

FIGURATIVE POTENTIAL OF THE WORD LANGUAGE IN RUSSIAN POETRY: CONSTRUCTIONS OF PERSONIFICATION

Petrova Z., Fateeva N.

Resumo

The main purpose of the work is to explore the metaphorical uses of the word language in poetic contextsin which personification is observed; determine the circle of words – objects of comparison combined with thismetaphor, identify the comparative frequency characteristics of these words, trace the chronology of their appearancein the Russian poetic language, analyze the renewal of the traditional metaphor language by poets with the help of otherwords associated with it by close semantic ties (dialect, jargon, names of different languages, etc.). The material of thestudy is a selection of contexts with the meaning of personification with the word language and words associated withit by synonymy and hypero-hyponymy relations from the Poetic Subcorpus of the Russian National Corpus. Whenanalyzing the linguistic material, the corpus method, the semantic field method, and the structural-functional methodwere used. As a result of the study, semantic classes of objects of comparison characterized by the considered personifierwere identified – “The inner world of a person”, “Nature: plants, water, wind, animals, etc.”, “Objects created by man”,the time frames and comparative frequency of their use. Conclusions are drawn about the variation of the traditional metaphor language both at the lexico-semantic and at the formal levels. The results of the study represent one of the fragments of the metaphorical system of the Russian poetic language of the 19th–21st centuries in its development.

STRUCTURE, PLOT-COMPOSITIONAL AND RHETORICAL FUNCTIONS OF INTERROGATIVE AND EXCLAMATION SENTENCES IN I. I. DMITRIEV’S FAIRY TALES

Rozhkova A.

Resumo

The relevance of the study is associated with an insufficient description of the linguistic and stylisticfeatures of I. I. Dmitriev’s fairy tales. The purpose of this work is a comprehensive analysis of interrogative andexclamation sentences. The paper presents for the first time the classifications of these types of syntactic constructions, and also determines their participation in the creation of rhetorical figures and describes the functions taking intoaccount the genre originality. Seven fairy tales served as the material for analysis. Research methods: review-analytical, classification, stylistic. Interrogative and exclamation sentences are present in all texts. Structurally, sentences are represented by different types: phraseologized, simple, complicated, complex. Among the interrogative sentences, threegroups are distinguished: rhetorical questions, hypophores, and actual questions. The brevity and simple structure ofindividual questions are associated with the ease and directness of spoken speech. When characterizing exclamationconstructions, the position of the exclamation mark and its combinations with other signs were taken into account. Alarge group is formed by sentences with one final exclamation mark. The second group includes sentences with a finalexclamation mark and other signs (question mark, exclamation point, ellipsis) located inside the structure. The thirdgroup includes constructions with an exclamation mark in the middle and other signs at the end of the sentence.Combinations of punctuation marks contribute to the transmission of intonations of live colloquial speech. Separate constructions in different groups represent rhetorical exclamations. In the organization of the text, interrogative and exclamation sentences often become structural and compositional signals that mark the key points of the plot, or mark the speech of the characters.
