Abstract

The article considers the specifics of interaction of the bilingual artistic worldview of the Veps writerNikolai Abramov on the example of his author’s translation, as well as the specifics of the transformation of the cultural code when transferred to a second language. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to continue discussing the problems of bilingual literary works, as well as the processes of development of young-written Vepsian literature. The purpose of this article is to analyze the representation of the national picture of the world in bilingualliterary works on the example of the author’s translations of the Veps poet Nikolai Abramov. The research focuses onN. Abramov’s author’s translations of his poems from the Veps language into Russian, which reflects the features ofdialogical thinking of the poet, who writes in two languages. The translations can also be considered as independentworks with new semantic content. In bilingual works Nikolai Abramov strives to convey his ideas using traditional symbols and images available to a native speaker of the language and culture in which the text is written, which also reflect the national consciousness of the people.
