Abstract
The article proposes to explore in diachrony the phenomenon of garden art in France through the correlation of its language and culture. For a long time, experience accumulated in the national consciousness of the French, and in everyday life a living tradition of garden cultivation was created, which was enriched with the change of eras and aesthetic trends. Studying the theme of garden art in France, the author searches for and finds hidden linguocultural meanings and subtexts in which the specificity of the French national linguistic picture of the world is manifested and which help to determine the national character traits of the French.
