Abstract
The article discusses means of pragmalinguistical impact on cases of cancel culture, i. e. general accountability of public persons for their statements and actions. With content analysis, case studies and experiments as well as discourse study on mass media and online apologies the author entertains the possibility to control the process of “cancelling” with a view to both mitigate and exacerbate it.
