One of the ways digital communication is used by the rising generation nowadays is the use of short figurative and yet meaningful communication units called memes. The wide distribution of this communicative means covers almost all language segments of the Internet. The modern German-language segment of the Internet is no exception. The article reflects the features of modern German memetics in relation to their topical content and the type of coding used (monocode and polycode).
