Abstract

The article presents the results of the semantic and syntactic analysis of the comparative construction with the marker like. It has been found out that this construction can perform the functions of the predicative, adverbial modifier of manner, adverbial modifier of comparison and attribute, and is characterized by the syncretism of meanings. The author describes the factors that help differentiate the adverbial modifier of manner and the adverbial modifier of comparison.
