Resumo

The article is dedicated to the study of metaphorical ekphrasis in Victor Pelevin's novel “Journey to Eleusis”. Metaphorical ekphrasis is understood as a type of description in which metaphor plays a key role in creating a visual image and organizing the ekphrastic narrative. The research found that the fundamental conceptual metaphors of the novel are “life is a journey” and “life is a story”. By integrating these metaphors into a multi-layered narrative, Pelevin addresses the problem of self-identity in a world of human-AI interaction.
