EVALUATIVE PARAMETERS OF THE GERMAN PROVERB “ENDE GUT, ALLES GUT” IN THE NEWSPAPER DISCOURSE

Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the evaluativeness of the German proverb Ende gut, alles gut in newspaper discourse texts. The methodology of the study is based on the theory of evaluation by J. Martin and P. White. The material of the study was 25 contexts of use of this proverb in the German edition “Der Tagesspiegel” over the past 20 years. As a result of the study, the frequency of use of the proverb in its original or modified forms was established, the axiological interpretation of other evaluative elements in the context - words and / or phrases - was determined, the object of evaluativeness was identified and the type of evaluative parameter of the proverb was revealed.
