Pragmatic Potential of Intertextuality in French Internet Discourse

Abstract

The aim of the conducted research is to identify the pragmatic potential of implementing intertextual relationships in French-language internet discourse. The article analyzes the use of a fragment from a well-known French song in various contexts based on data from French-speaking social networks. The analysis is carried out within the framework of discursive and pragmatic approaches, utilizing contextual, statistical methods, and methods of analysis and synthesis. The article describes the pragmatic potential of the category of intertextuality in French-language internet discourse and identifies the main models of intertextual relationships. The results of the research contribute to the development of the study of intertextuality in new mediated forms of communication.
