摘要
A method is proposed for the analytical calculation of the elastic displacement of a shaft relative to a bush in joints with interference under the action of radial force and a bending torque. Those displacements are associated with elastic deformation of the shaft, the bush, and the contact layer formed by their rough surfaces. On the basis of that approach, a method is proposed for estimating the lower eigenfrequency of the shaft–bush system. As an example, the thermal fitting of an axial tool in a mandrel is considered.

New approaches to measuring the viscosity of magnetorheological fluids in two or more shafts in the presence of a magnetic field are considered. These approaches are based on torque measurement. It proves expedient to replace all the choke channels in magnetorheological transformers by a single channel between coaxial cylinders.

Hardened Novikov Gears as the Last Stage of General-Purpose Gear Systems
摘要
The creation of general-purpose gear systems with hardened Novikov gears of relatively low precision is considered. By solving three-dimensional elastic-contact problems and modeling, the replacement of expensive high-precision involute gears in the final stage of general-purpose gear systems by less expensive hardened Novikov gears of lower precision is shown to be expedient. Preliminary calculations of prospective high-precision Novikov gears are presented. They offer considerable advantages over their involute counterparts.

Coating formation over the surface of a highly porous material on the basis of activated carbon fiber is considered. The coating is applied from a colloidal solution of metals, with the goal of producing electrodes and composite polymer structures. Experiments show that porous carbon materials may be metallized by means of metal nanoclusters (measuring 2–10 nm) on the basis of electrophoresis, without loss of the initial porosity.

Influence of Aluminum Coatings on the Quality of Weld Joints

The application of a longitudinal magnetic field in welding aluminum coated sheet is considered. A special welding head is used to produce weld joints of satisfactory quality. Findings are obtained regarding the formation and metallographic structure of the metal in the seam, with the segregation of aluminum over its cross section. The formation of composite structure is noted.

摘要
In research on thread cutting, the flaws inevitably arising in the first two and last two turns of the thread, when the process is unsteady, are analyzed. Specifically, insertion and removal of the tool from the workpiece are accompanied by abrupt change in thread diameter: abrupt decrease in the case of threads on shafts; and increase for threads in holes. That leads to the appearance of slots on assembly, thereby increasing the likelihood of accidents and other problems in thread operation. A method of eliminating such gaps is proposed and tested: control of the machining precision in the course of thread cutting. In particular, the thread diameter and pitch are controlled by compensation of the axial and radial elastic displacements of the tool, based on timely correction of the transverse and longitudinal supply during the unsteady stage of the process. Compensation of the machining errors improves the dimensional precision of the thread and decreases the systematic errors and spread in the thread dimensions.

Applicability of Tractional Electric Motors

The practicality of three armature designs for tractional electric motors (power 560–755 kW, tractional force 5326 kgf) is analyzed. The use of an armature shaft of variable (reinforced) cross section in place of the armature with a sleeve is proposed, and suggestions are made regarding the assembly of the bearings. Reinforcement of the working shaft by smoothing may be recommended.

Friction stir welding (FSW) is studied as a method of permanent bonding in special aerospace structures made of aluminum, titanium, and magnesium alloys and high-temperature steels. Experimental and industrial equipment for high-speed friction stir welding is presented. A manufacturing technology has been developed for a very hard wear-resistant welding tool of complex shape that is applicable to aviation materials.

Thermal Properties of Carbon Plastics

T-700 (Toray) and UMT 45-12K-EP (Umatex) carbon fibers and resin-impregnated reinforcing fabrics (prepregs) based on them are investigated by thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. By thermogravimetric analysis of carbon fibers from different manufacturers and prepregs prepared with different time–temperature profiles, the content of volatiles is determined, along with possible prepreg structures and the content of carbon fibers. The influence of carbon fibers from different manufacturers on the characteristic temperatures of the epoxy binder and the binder content in the prepreg is assessed. Thermogravimetric analysis shows that, for UMT 45-12K-EP carbon fibers, the content of oxygen-bearing surface complexes is higher than for T-700 carbon fibers. In the prepreg based on T-700 carbon fibers, the content of epoxy binder is about 35%, which is 4–5% higher than for prepregs based on UMT 45-12K-EP carbon fibers. That indicates different wettability of the fibers from different manufacturers.

Producing Polydicyclopentadiene from Lower-Grade Dicyclopentadiene

Polymer samples based on polydicyclopentadiene produced from Russian dicyclopentadiene are investigated by thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. A second stage of polymerization—that is, heat treatment of the samples—is found to increase the degree of polymerization and improve the physicomechanical properties of the polydicyclopentadiene.

Controlling the State of Machine Tools
摘要
Globally, manufacturers make great efforts to maintain the performance of industrial equipment. Developers and researchers are interested in automated approaches to maintaining the performance of equipment, especially at enterprises with high degrees of computerization and comprehensive information systems. In the present work, a new approach is outlined: an autonomous control system for maintaining the condition of metal-cutting machines. This approach is based on prior work in the field and permits maintenance on the basis of autonomous control of the state of machine tools. The structure of a system with the following generalized control functions is presented: decision making; and the issuing of commands on the basis of built-in resources. The formulation of control decisions employs the theory of fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic. By means of the ANFIS fuzzy network system, the autonomy of state control of the machine tool may be assessed. Criticality assessment of the condition of machine tools and their components is important in making decisions as to the setup of systems controlling the condition of equipment at enterprises, with assessment of their efficiency. In the monitoring subsystem, provision is made for assessment of the diagnostic results, prediction, and the generation of control decisions so as to prevent disruptions of machine-tool operation.

More Uniform Motion of Positional Servo Drive in a Jig-Boring Machine

Conditions corresponding to more uniform motion of the linear and angular coordinates of a precision jig-boring machine with digital positional servo drives are outlined. Uniform coordinate motion, especially at low supply speeds, is extremely important for high-precision measuring operations and also in finishing. The effectiveness of the proposals is demonstrated in simulation.

The influence of cutting on the surface roughness and undulation of AMg2 aluminum alloy with regular and ultrafine grain structure is considered. The quantitative influence of profile filters on its surface roughness and undulation is established, on the basis of 2D parameters. In the machining of materials with ultrafine grain structure, the surface quality is better than for materials with regular grain structure.

Resultant Cutting Trajectories on Machine Tools with Raster Tool Motion

The formation of the resultant raster trajectories in machine tools are established on the basis of Lissajous figures, taking account of additional workpiece motion for finishing purposes. Kinematic and geometric formulas are obtained for the relative tool and workpiece trajectory with strict kinematic coupling. These formulas are required in practice for abrasive lapping. They permit control of the resultant abrasive-cutting trajectory in finishing the precision planes of the workpiece.

Analytical formulas are presented for the plastic burring in the cutting of a number of materials.
