Bankov S.E., Frolova E.V.

Abstract

A microstrip pattern-forming circuit designed to form sector radiation pattern of a linear antenna array. Proposed approximate method of device synthesis, including analysis of an infinite periodic system of related microstrip lines. Based on the found generalized parameters of the structure, the design was selected tive parameters of the circuit. Its electrodynamic analysis was carried out in the HFSS system, calculated in frequency band, the amplitude-phase distribution formed in the output channels. Designed, a sample device was manufactured and experimentally studied, providing in the frequency band up to 80% formation of the required amplitude-phase distribution. Based on received experimental data in the HFSS system, modeling of the diagram-forming scheme was carried out we are with a linear array of horns and it is shown that the elements of such an array have diagrams on straightness close to rectangular.

Slow motion medium for broadband lens antennas based on corrugated metal surfaces

Kaloshin V.A., Bui Сhung .

Abstract

A slowing medium based on parallel corrugated metal surfaces. The study of the moderating properties of the medium was carried out using numerical method in the Ansys HFSS software environment. It is shown that the medium has a strong spatial natural and weak frequency dispersion. The latter circumstance allows it to be used in as a material for broadband lenses of the VHF-microwave ranges of electromagnetic waves. As an example of such use, a lens-based antenna was synthesized and analyzed Mikaelyan.

The influence of a strong local atmospheric disturbance on the resonant structure of the near field of a low-frequency loop antenna located in the Earth's ionosphere

Moshkov A.V.

Abstract

Numerical calculations were carried out of the time dependence of the near electric field strength of an ionospheric loop antenna in the frequency range 1...10 kHz under the influence of a strong local disturbance floating in the atmosphere. A disturbance model in the form of a point source of energy was used. It is shown that as the disturbance region approaches frame antenna, the frequency and spatial resonant structure of the field strength changes qualitatively. Resonance near the lower hybrid frequency practically disappears, and resonance at small observation angles relative to the direction of the local geomagnetic field transforms into transverse resonance.

Investigation of superconducting transmission lines and tunnel junctions for detecting signals at frequencies above 1 THz.

Kinev N.V., Chekushkin A.M., Khan F.V., Rudakov K.I.

Abstract

Superconducting integrated circuits based on NbTiN/Al transmission lines at frequencies up to 1.1 THz have been developed and experimentally studied. Numerical modeling of two microcircuit topologies with an operating frequency range of 0.9…1.2 THz, containing a slot antenna, made in a thin NbTiN film and matched in output to a microstrip transmission line, and a tunnel junction of the “superconductor–insulator–superconductor” (SIS) type with an area of the order of 1 μm^2, acting as a terahertz detector. Experimental samples of the microcircuit were manufactured and tested; in the experimental setup, a backward wave lamp (BWL) with an output frequency of up to 1.1 THz was used as a source. A powerful pumping of the SIS detector was obtained, thereby demonstrating the applicability of the manufactured NbTiN/Al transmission lines for operation in superconducting circuits at frequencies above 750 GHz, where traditionally used Nb/Nb transmission lines do not operate due to high attenuation.

Nazarov L.E.

Abstract

A description of the algorithm for optimal symbol-by-symbol reception of signal structures based on block noise-resistant codes in non-binary Galois fields is given. It is shown that the basis of this algorithm is the fast spectral transformation algorithm in the Walsh–Hadamard basis with the dimension of the Galois field. It is shown that the resulting complexity of the analyzed character-by-character reception algorithm is determined by the dimension of the dual code, which determines the prospects of its application for block noise-resistant codes with a high code rate (with low redundancy). The results of modeling a character-by-symbol reception algorithm are presented in order to study noise immunity for a number of frequency-efficient digital signals with quadrature-amplitude and amplitude-phase manipulations (with frequency coefficient efficiencies of 3, 4 and 6 bps/Hz) in combination with a parity check code. It is shown that the use of a symbol-by-symbol reception algorithm provides an energy gain of up to 1.5...3.0 dB in relation to the transmission and reception of the considered series of signals without coding.

Activation of a new landslide process on Bureya according to interferometric measurements by the PALSAR-2 radar

Zakharova L.N., Zakharov A.I., Nikitov S.A.

Abstract

Based on the results of processing an interferometric pair of radar images with synthesized aperture (SAR) L-band PALSAR-2 taken over the territory of the Bureya landslide in May 2019 and May 2020 from the ALOS-2 satellite, a new unstable surface area was discovered. Rated the average monthly rate of soil displacement is up to 1 cm/month along the surface of the slope at the site of the formation of a new separation wall. It was noted that interferometric processing of archival data had not previously revealed any movements of the slope surface in this place. The most possible reason for the activation of the landslide process in the new area has been identified: a violation of stability as a result of the collapse of the underlying landslide body in December 2018.

Electromagnetic waves in a one-sided metallized tangentially magnetized bigyrotropic layer (with an example of calculating the characteristics of spin waves)

Lokk E.G., Gerus S.V.

Abstract

Without using the magnetostatic approximation, the problem of the propagation of electrical magnetic waves in an arbitrary direction in a tangentially magnetized one-sided metal sized bigyrotropic layer. It is shown that in this problem Maxwell’s equations reduce to differential equation to which the biquadratic characteristic equation corresponds equation with four roots k_x21, –k_x21, k_x22 and –k_x22, describing the distribution of the wave in the cross section layer. A dispersion equation is obtained that describes waves with real values k_x21 and k_x22. Based on this equation, the characteristics of spin waves in a one-sided metallized ferrite plate (which is a special case of a bigyrotropic layer) were calculated for frequencies above the ferromagnetic resonance frequency. It was found that for these waves the quantity k_x21 can take both real and imaginary values, and the quantity k_x22 can only take real values. It was discovered that at a certain frequency the spin wave has an isofrequency curve that is practically no different from a straight line.

The influence of nonlinearity on a singular point in a system of coupled Duffing oscillators

Temnaya O.S., Safin A.R., Kravchenko O.V., Nikitov S.A.

Abstract

The influence of nonlinearity on the displacement of a singular point in a system of two connected Duffing oscillators when coupling coefficients and insertion losses change. It is shown that the displacement of the singular point when the nonlinearity coefficient changes is accompanied by a decrease in the amplitude of the excited oscillations and a shift in the resonant frequency. The threshold values of the nonlinearity, coupling, and insertion loss coefficients at which a singular point occurs are numerically found. It is shown that an increase in the nonlinearity coefficient leads to a decrease in the threshold value of the insertion losses required for the formation of a singular point.

Comparison of methods for calculating superconducting integrated structures using semi-analytical calculations and in three-dimensional numerical modeling programs

Khan F.V., Atepalikhin A.A., Filippenko L.V., Koshelets V.P.

Abstract

Modeling of superconducting integrated structures in the frequency range was carried out 300...750 GHz by two methods: 1) using ABCD matrices associated with each element of the circuit;  2) using the Ansys HFSS program. The surface impedance values of superconducting films are calculated numerically using expressions from the Matthies–Bardeen theory. It was found that for samples with microstrip line widths less than a quarter of the wavelength, both models are in qualitative agreement with each other and with experimental data. Shown that with an increase in the width of the lines and the geometric dimensions of other structural elements, transverse modes arise, as well as curvature of the wave front propagating along the lines waves, which causes differences between the semi-analytical and numerical calculations, which coincide with the experiment for all samples.

Modeling the frequency characteristics of the waveguide structure of a heterodyne receiver with sideband division for the range 211...275 GHz

Tretyakov I.V., Khudchenko A.V., Cherny R.A., Likhachev S.F.

Abstract

The microwave properties of the components of the waveguide structure of a heterodyne receiver in the 211...275 GHz range with sideband separation based on a pair of superconductor–insulator–superconductor (SIS) tunnel junctions are described. The following elements of the waveguide were studied structures: hybrid four-port splitter, directional coupler, T-shaped splitter body and waveguide absorber. S parameters were calculated for all elements. For hybrid divider additionally shows a phase balance with deviations of less than 0.4 degrees, and an amplitude balance within 1 dB. The expected level of quality of band separation in a band separation receiver using the studied waveguide elements is analyzed; its value is more than –25 dB. The waveguide elements are designed taking into account the fact that the block will be manufactured using precision milling; the minimum dimensions of the waveguide structure are limited by the diameter of the cutter used; in our case, 100 μm was chosen. All numerical calculations were performed using the finite interval method in the HFSS package.

The Franz-Keldysh effect in silicon–ultrathin (3.7 nm) oxide–polysilicon structures

Belorusov D.A., Goldman E.I., Chucheva G.V.

Abstract

The manifestation of the Franz–Keldysh effect was discovered when illuminated by indirect daylight Al–n+-Si:P–SiO2–(100) n-Si structures with ultrathin (3.7 nm) oxide. It has been shown that the use of backlight even at low field voltages (up to 3 V) leads to an increase in the tunneling current through the oxide compared to the current in darkness by three orders of magnitude. A model of the influence of radiation on the process of electron tunneling through an ultrathin insulating layer has been constructed. At first as a result of the Franz–Keldysh effect, a radiation quantum is captured by an electron and this charge carrier tunnels through the barrier at a higher level compared to darkness. After a charge carrier enters a semiconductor, its energy is sufficient for several events of electron–hole pair production during impact ionization of silicon.

Averin S.V., Zhitov V.A., Zakharov L.Y., Kotov V.M., Temiryazeva M.P.

Abstract

High-quality ZnS epitaxial layers grown on GaP semiconductor substrates by MOCVD method. Photodetectors of the visible and UV parts of the spectrum based on new interdigitated Schottky barrier metal–semiconductor–metal (MSM) contacts to semiconductor structure ZnS/GaP. The detectors exhibit low dark current values. The dependence of the characteristics of the spectral response of detectors on voltage has been established offsets. It was found that the long-wavelength response boundary of ZnS/GaP MSM detectors can shift from 355 to 450 nm when the bias voltage changes from 10 to 30 V. At the maximum photosensitivity wavelength of 450 nm, the ampere-watt sensitivity of the detector was 0.3 A/W at a bias voltage of 60 V, and the quantum efficiency was 82%.

Petrosyan M.M., Ryzhov A.I.

Abstract

A method for receiving ultra-wideband noise-like microwave radiation -- radio light is considered, based on the correlation reception of signals coming from spaced apart space of receiving antennas, for the purpose of further effective image formation radio-illuminated environment. A mathematical model has been developed to study the formation possible response of the receiving system and assessing the influence of signal accumulation time on its dynamic
range. One-dimensional responses of the correlation receiving system to point sources of radiation were obtained, for which radio light sources were used. An experimental model of a correlation radio light receiver was developed and physical experiments were carried out with it, confirming the results obtained during modeling, as well as the overall performance of the proposed approach.
