Resumo
The article is devoted to one of the most significant Late Renaissance and Early Baroque tombstones in Swedish Estland - the tombstone of Pontus Delagardi. The article focuses on the epitaph text placed on the sarcophagus of Delagardi. Lexical and syntactic allusions introduced into it by the author allow us to speak of it as a Renaissance anthology of a number of mainly ancient texts, whose composition is determined by the author’s intention. The epitaph text of Pontus Delagardi, in turn, becomes the subject of anthologizing, significant in the context of the historiographical actualization in Sweden of the mid-second half of the 17th century of the idea of the Swedish Empire and the role of the Delagardi family in its formation and strengthening (historiographical works of Cl. Arrhenius, J. Widekindi).
