Аннотация
The purpose of the article is to reveal the historical and cultural prerequisites for the emergence and development in Russia of the pseudo-ancient Egyptian neopagan subculture known as “Kemetism”. In the course of the cultural analysis using the hermeneutic method, the following tasks are solved: argumentation of the emergence of Kemetism on Russian soil in St. Petersburg during the Covid-19 pandemic in the form of the cult of the goddess Bastet, disclosure of Russian Kemetism as a postmodern phenomenon based on the moral concepts of “conscious consumption”, “female power”, “new sincerity”. A conclusion is made about the need for further study of the phenomenon of Russian Kemetism from the standpoint of cultural studies.
