The article analyses the linguistic means of the political image development in German mass media texts published in Der Spiegel, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Tagesschau. The paper focuses on the image of German Foreign Minister A. Baerbock and studies such means of image making and modification as comparison, antithesis, cognitive metaphor. The role of gender stereotypes is analyzed. The anti-image campaign launched against A. Berbok during the election campaign of 2021 is considered. The conclusion infers counting theatralization of the political discourse in mass media.
