Abstract
The article examines the issue of the intersection of Parnassian and Pre-Raphaelite aesthetic concepts in poetry. The result of the study was the establishment of several common points and differences in the poets’ understanding of the goals of art; their views on the idea of «art for art’s sake», paying special attention towards its reflection in England; as well as among the key features of their poetics that emerged due to it: orientation to the synthesis of arts, linguistic innovation, attention to static forms.
