Abstract
The article uses examples from American newspapers to show that the vocabulary of the language is replenished with new words that are used in the media and advertising, in the speech of politicians and public figures. Some new lexical units from the mass media of the United States of America are considered and the ways of their formation are revealed, while all examples are taken from various newspaper thematic groups.
