Abstract

This article is dedicated to investigating the model of irony called OBJECT-EQUATING in the discourse of the TV-program „heute-show” on the ZDF channel. The article explores the application of this model within a multimodal text and analyzes its influence on forming ironic meaning in the text. The article provides a linguistic analysis of a multimodal text (a video excerpt) from „heute-show”, related to the topic of Deutsche Bahn. The analysis reveals the peculiarities of using the model of OBJECT-EQUATING.
