Abstract
In the study, we explore the key terms (“understanding”, “interpretation”, “inference” in Russian and English) which form the term cluster UNDERSTANDING in contemporary cognitive linguistics. The research data are influential Russian and foreign glossaries and collected papers which serve to select the word combinations containing the lexemes under analysis. Their collocates help determine whether the lexemes function as terms or not, and further identify their spheres of use.
