Ritual Letter: Backbone Features and Ethno-Cultural Specifics

Abstract

The article discusses the system-forming features of ritual letter, varieties of “letter of happiness”, which include the forced transmission of letters, the presence of instructions to conduct a certain ceremony - to prepare “holy bread” from “holy leaven”, in a strictly fixed order, manipulation of the recipient’s religious feelings through verbal and non-verbal components. The material for the study was ritual letters in Russian, English, French and German, received by the authors from May 2020 to May 2023, as well as posted on thematic sites dedicated to Internet fraud.
