Artistic Images of Ch. Aitmatov’s Novel “Farewell, Gul'sary” in the Cultural Code of Kyrgyz Nation

Abstract

This research is about the most important elements of the Kyrgyz cultural code presented by Ch. Aitmatov’s novel “Farewell, Gul`sary!”. Cultural code features remaining of paramount importance are considered in context of the long history of Kyrgyz people. The aim of the study is threefold: to describe the specificity of author’s interpretation of elements of cultural code that continued to be particularly relevant in the middle of the 20th century is revealed, the historical realities and writer`s personality; to analyze in Kyrgyz and Russian languages the vocabulary and studied elements of cultural code as well as its adequacy of translation into English. In the study, methods of comparative analysis, comparative translation analysis, contextual analysis, component analysis and semantic interpretation, are chosen.
