Abstract

The article is devoted to the artistic originality of the interpretation of the image of the scientist created in M. Shelley`s novel «Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus» in the literature of the 21st century. For more than two centuries the novel has attracted attention, becoming an integral part of pop-culture, which determines the relevance of the research topic. The purpose of the work is to trace the development of pretext images in modern prose. In a dialogue with M. Shelley modern writers focus on the topic of responsibility of scientists in the field of new IT technologies and artificial intelligence. The creation of the human mind can be a destructive force if its creator does not think about the prospects and goals of a scientific experiment.
