On the functioning of conflict deixis in political texts
Abstract
in this paper the functioning of deictic expressions in political texts has been investigated. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that in addition to the well-known classifications of deixis proposed by a number of scientists, the authors identify conflicting deictic expressions that are frequently used in messages concerning armed clashes, any contradictions, opposition speeches and other conflicts. In the context of our study we analyzed information publicly available on the official websites of the political and diplomatic departments of Russia and Georgia.

Specificity of digital transformation of print media in the republic of Kazakhstan (on the example of the newspaper "Kazakhstanskaya pravda")
Abstract
the article is devoted to the analysis of the national experience of practical implementation of digital transformation methods by print media of the Republic of Kazakhstan, aimed, in particular, at forming effective communication with target audience groups. The empirical basis for the analysis was the website and social media of the newspaper "Kazakhstanskaya Pravda" - one of the oldest print media of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The authors of the article analyze the content strategies of the newspaper on various digital platforms, techniques and methods of engaging the readership, searching for new creative methods of presenting the information agenda in the digital media space. The methods used include structural-functional, systemic, observation, analysis and synthesis methods. The study found that popular digital media trends, such as multi-platform and multi-format, are clearly visible in the example of Kazakhstan print media. The desire to adapt the information product to the specifics of the placement site, information needs and expectations of the audience reading groups can certainly be assessed positively. At the same time, the rather low involvement of the audience and weakly expressed channels for providing feedback are noteworthy. It seems that the audience's passivity was a consequence of both a weak content strategy and an unformed reader's need for communication with the media. Obviously, this approach needs to be reviewed and adjusted.

Regionalism and cultural identity: analysis of the works of M.N. Yeskov through the prism of folklore of the Kursk region and the local environment
Abstract
the article is devoted to the study of the specifics of regionalism and cultural identity in the context of literary works of the writer-prose writer M.N. Eskov. His work actualizes the problem of awareness and preservation of local traditions in the context of globalization and unification of cultures in the modern world. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the connection between regionalism and cultural identity in the works of M.N. Eskov, viewed through the prism of the folklore of the Kursk region and the local environment. The article is based on theoretical foundations, including the literature on regionalism and folkloristics, as well as practical methods of analysis (content analysis, comparative and historical-cultural analysis, linguocultural methods of text interpretation). All of this, as a whole, provides an in-depth study of the issues related to the interaction of regionalism and cultural identity in the writer's work. At the same time, the study covers a wide range of topics related to cultural codes, ways of their artistic interpretation and significance for the formation of regional self-consciousness in the conditions of modern reality. As a result of the study it was found that in order to convey Kursk culture the writer actively uses folklore elements (including the depiction of local rituals, natural landscapes, etc., which becomes an integral part of the plot, filling it with depth and multiple meanings). In turn, the numerous landscape vocabulary introduced by the author in the text not only forms a vivid picture of his native land, but also serves as a link between reality and fiction, creating for the reader the effect of presence and immersion in the unique atmosphere of the Kursk region.

Semantic features of zoonyms in the Russian song genre (based on the ornithonyms)
Abstract
the article is dedicated to identifying the distinctive characteristics of zoonyms in the Russian song genre, with a particular focus on ornithonyms. The aim of the study is to analyze the nominative meaning of birds in Russian folk songs and to uncover their role in shaping the linguistic worldview that reflects the national and cultural specifics of the Russian people. To select the units for study based on a comprehensive sampling, we employed a lexicographic method. In analyzing various zoonyms used in songs and couplets, we applied a comparative method. The work examines different aspects of the ornithonyms, including their symbolism, associations, and functions in a folkloric context. Special attention is given to how zoonymic vocabulary helps convey the emotional state of the song's characters and enriches their imagery. The author concludes that zoonyms play a key role in forming the linguistic worldview in Russian folk songs. Birds not only enrich the textual structures of the works but also serve as important symbols reflecting the national and cultural characteristics and emotional states of the characters. The practical application of the research results is seen in the development of courses on folklore and the Russian language, as well as in the use of the obtained data in lexicography and linguoculturology. As a result, the study emphasizes the importance of zoonymic vocabulary as a means of expressing cultural identity and perception of nature in Russian folklore.

Difficulties in specifying the definition of the leader of public opinion in modern media
Abstract
the article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of the leader of public opinion in the modern media environment. Since in modern science the concept of "public opinion leader" is interpreted differently depending on the field of research and the beliefs of the researcher himself, it seems important to cover a wider range of characteristics for further research of the problem. Various and conflicting approaches to defining a leader are considered: historical, social, marketing, image, etc. Special attention is paid to the formation of related terms to the opinion leader in modern media: influencer, trendsetter. Moreover, the article examines the general characteristics and set of tools of public opinion leaders and attempts to put together a portrait of a multitasking, convergent and imaginative opinion leader typical of modern media. The object under study in modern media includes all possible interpretations and methods of influencing the audience from politics, marketing, and psychology, which makes it difficult to study the leader of public opinion in detail. In conclusion, the article concludes that there is a demand for character leaders acting on the basis of parasocial relationships and a lack of knowledge of the phenomena of character leaders.

Teaching the students of foreign languages departments of universities to do a linguistic analysis of a text
Abstract
the aim of this article is proving the necessity of teaching the students of foreign languages departments of Universities to do a linguistic analysis of the text. First it’s important to study the works of Soviet scientist I.R. Galperin. To do a linguistic analysis of the text he had a broader view on the grammar of a language and define the following grammatical categories of the text: information, coherence, cohesion, continuum, autosemanty of the parts of the text, retrospection and prospection, modality, integration and completion. V.I. Bortnikov had come to the conclusion that the linguistic analysis of the text had two ways: on various language levels (phonemic, morphemic, word level and so on) and by analyzing the categories of the text. By doing various types of the linguistic analysis of the text the students will develop a so-called “linguistic flair" for nonstandard expression of thoughts and ideas. It will lead to deep immersion into the structure of the text as a unit of a written variant of the speech and, as a resuilt, teaching Lingustics on a higher level.

The role of stylistic devices in verbalizing the concept of “future” in the collection of stories “Time is Up”
Abstract
the article is devoted to the study of the role of stylistic devices in the verbalization of the artistic concept of "future" in the collection of stories by modern Russian authors “Time is Up”. The dystopia is aimed at warning about possible catastrophic consequences of the future. Analysis of the linguistic means of verbalization of the concept of “future” allows for a deeper perception of the author's intentions and ideas embedded in the texts. With the help of a thorough analysis of the texts, such stylistic devices as metaphor, comparison, personification, hyperbole and others are studied. They play an important role in the formation and transmission of the concept of the future. Stylistic devices help writers transform the artistic concept of “future” into specific linguistic images, enhancing the expressiveness and emotionality of the text. They also enrich the image of the future and contribute to the formation of a unique artistic world in which the reader can deeply immerse himself in the described future. The results of this study have the potential to contribute to a better understanding of the mechanism of the artistic concept of “future” and to comprehend the concept of the future in dystopian stories. The object of the study is the verbalization of the artistic concept of “future”. The subject of the study is the stylistic devices used to implement this concept. The purpose of the work is to analyze how the authors of the stories construct and express the complex concept of “future” using linguistic and rhetorical means, as well as to reveal the functions and role of these devices in the text.

Explication of the concept of “war” in a dramatic text (based on the play “The Absence of War” by D. Hare)
Abstract
the aim of the study is to reveal the nature of the literary and artistic explication of the concept of “war” in the play “The Absence of War” (1993) written by the modern British playwright D. Hare. The article examines the approaches of the researchers to the interpretation of the term “concept”, which is an interdisciplinary, multidimensional phenomenon that includes notions, associations, images and semantic meanings in the cognitive, cultural and philosophical spheres. The analysis shows that D. Hare refers to the concept of “war” to reveal the main conflict of the play – the crisis of the British Labour Party. The scientific novelty of the study is related to the lack of the researches on the proposed material. The Russian researchers had not previously conducted a detailed analysis of the explication of the concept of “war” in play “The Absence of War” by D. Hare, the attention was mainly paid to other plays by the playwright, in which he focused on issues of the world politics rather than the domestic policy of the United Kingdom. The article examines the broad meaning of the concept of “war”, in which the play’s author not only combines, but also reveals the distinction between military reality and political confrontation both in the UK and within the Labour Party. The article presents a complex approach to the analysis of the concept of “war” explication in the dramatic text, combining the cognitive and literary theories. The study also reveals the main ways of the political realias representation in the works of D. Hare, as it contributes to understanding of the characteristic features and ideological orientation of the political drama and related genres. The results of the study show that the concept of “war” in the dramatic text helps the author to reveal the country’s domestic policy problems in peacetime, the tragic situation of the main character, who is the embodiment of the “old-school” Labour leader, and the party crisis in the UK.

Synonymous relations in the sphere of stable combinations with numerals in the Dagestan languages
Abstract
the article provides a comparative analysis of synonymous relations in the field of stable combinations with numerals in the Dagestan languages. Avar, Dargish, Lezgian, Archin and Rutul languages are used for comparative analysis. It is noted that synonymy in the field of stable combinations of these languages is quite common. Such figurative combinations express the same concept and have an identical subject relationship. Stable combinations with numerals emphasize their identity and imagery, which is what makes them individual. Most often, such synonymous stable combinations are used in context to emphasize a quantity. Synonymous stable units with the numeral "one" are widespread in all the analyzed languages. The remaining numbers are used in isolated cases. Their usage is approximately the same in all these languages.

Anglicisms as a component of modern speech behavior (lexico-grammatical aspect)
Abstract
the article examines the grammatical aspect of the spontaneous use of anglicisms as one of the characteristic features of the speech behavior of some speakers and writers in Russian. The research methodology is presented by a review of scientific works of domestic researchers on a survey of lexical borrowings in the Russian language, as well as an analysis of lexical borrowings, the use of which is single, unique, from the standpoint of semantics and grammatical implementation. The collection of lexical material was carried out using a continuous sampling method from written Internet messages and Internet correspondence, newspaper journalism on a certain topic - sports, youth life, advertising, etc., as well as some genres of oral speech – usually oral public speeches in an official or semi-official setting. The results of scientific research are presented in the form of conclusions, which record both changes in the lexical system and certain advances in the grammatical system – for example, in the formation of parts of speech, the structure of sentences and the organization of groups of sentences.

The linguistic means of language manipulation in English-language media discourse
Abstract
today the most important function of media discourse is to produce the manipulative impact on public consciousness. The issues of linguistic manipulation occupy a significant part in linguistic studies. However, the use of stylistic means as a subject of research for the implementation of various techniques and methods of linguistic manipulation in media discourse, in our opinion, is insufficient. The purpose of this study is to identify the stylistic features of media texts of English-language media sources, their role in the formation of a pragmatic impact on the recipient of information. A solid set of examples, accompanied by a detailed analysis of the relative manipulative impact gives additional significance to the material. The results obtained in the work expand the possibilities of using the potential of stylistic means to implement manipulative techniques of persuasion and manipulation of mass consciousness in general. The results of the study can be theoretically and practically significant in the field of media linguistics, journalism, political linguistics, and political science.

Functioning of the Komi-Permian language in the media and printed press of the Perm krai
Abstract
the article considers the functioning of the Komi-Permian language in the media and printed press of the Perm krai. The relevance of the work is due to the ongoing changes in the language situation in the region, in particular, a significant decrease in the number of native speakers of the Komi-Permian language that has occurred over the past 10 years. The purpose of the article is to trace changes in the use of the Komi-Permian language by its speakers in the media, including television, films, the Internet and printed publications. The analyzed materials were the results of a survey of Komi-Permyaks collected in 2015 and 2023-2024. The analysis of the material obtained during the survey shows that the Komi-Permyaks predominantly use Russian when watching TV programs and films, reading books and the press, searching for information on the Internet. Although over the past 9 years there have been changes towards a wider use of the Komi-Permian language, firstly, this is not typical for all the areas considered, and secondly, these changes do not change the general ratio in favor of the Russian language. The Komi-Permian language is underrepresented in the media space of the Perm krai: the number of TV programs, printed publications and their topics do not allow for the full satisfaction of the needs of speakers. Providing regional media broadcasting in the Komi-Permyak language with airtime with a higher rating, expanding the topics and list of television programs and printed publications, supporting communities and blogs in the Komi-Permian language in the Internet space will strengthen the functional capacity of the Komi-Permian language.

Peculiarities and linguistic problems of the translation from Russian poetry of Silver Age into the Spanish language
Abstract
the purpose of this study is to analyze the extent to which the Spanish translation reflects all the stylistic characteristics found in the original Russian Silver Age poems, in order to identify the most relevant features and difficulties encountered by translators of this language pair. The research conducted allows to conclude that there are three main factors that have a decisive influence on the success that poetic recreation can achieve in terms of translation theory. Firstly, there is the need for interdisciplinary research by translators of both text and its surrounding elements. Secondly, the strophic structure of the poem and its vertical and horizontal contexts is to be considered. Thirdly, the characteristic phenomenon of euphony in Russian poems is to be taking into account. In addition to the effort to find a middle ground between these factors, one must consider the fact that handling analytic and syntactic languages exponentially complicates the solution reported challenge. The practical significance of a comparative study of the translation of works by Russian Symbolists, Acmeists, and Futurists is to create a useful resource that will make it possible to understand the shortcomings found in certain works and motivate future Russian-to-Spanish translators to produce translations accurate to the original.

Exploring translation of innovation marketing texts
Abstract
the purpose of this study is to identify and consider the translation features of texts intended to promote new information technologies, in particular computer–aided design systems. The theoretical basis is represented by works on strategies and principles of translation of special and marketing texts, types of information, comparative characteristics of English and Russian languages, as well as general translation issues. By comparing the original and translated texts, the methods of transmitting various types of information and certain categories of linguistic units into Russian are analyzed. This allows us to identify the basic principles of translating materials that combine technical and marketing characteristics. It is shown that a combined strategy is applied in translation, aimed at transmitting the informational and communicative aspects of the message. This determines the variety of translation approaches: from the most accurate and complete transmission of cognitive information to transcription, which involves a certain degree of creativity and co-authorship of the translator. Some of the highlighted translation principles are applicable to special translation, however, they are implemented taking into account the marketing orientation of the message. The framework to be followed by the translator is indicated, including a restrained manner of presentation, observance of terminological, stylistic and formal uniformity. The results obtained can be used in the practice of translating marketing and popular science texts related to various types of new technologies, as well as in translation training.

Analysis of legal discourse as a model of institutional discourse in the English language
Abstract
this article defines the model of institutional discourse and its characteristics. It presents approaches to interpreting legal discourse and describes the recipients and senders as its direct participants. Special attention is given to the differential features of legal texts, which are influenced by the polysemy of semantics, as well as extralinguistic factors that play a significant role in the perception of legal documents. The terminological sign is considered a fundamental conceptual unit of the legal semiosphere within the framework of legal discourse. The dominant elements of legal discourse are identified – namely, texts of legal documents – and their language, which includes the language of legislation and subordinate legal acts, the language of legal science and education, etc. Legal discourse represents a complex and multifaceted phenomenon in which linguistic means play a key role in shaping legal reality. The study of legal discourse is a relevant and promising direction in contemporary linguistics, allowing for the identification of not only the main regularities of its functioning but also an understanding of how language influences legal processes and social relations as a whole.

Acoustic and laryngeal correlates of word stress in the Gilyak language
Abstract
an experimental phonetic study of Gilaki native speakers (four in the first stage of the study and three in the second one) was conducted as a part of a complex study of acoustic and articulatory markers of stressed syllable nuclei in Iranian languages. A studio microphone and an elecroglottograph were used to record the speech flow. Speech information was recorded synchronously in two channels: an intonogram – a reflection of the microphone signal, and a glottogram – an electronic analogue of data from the glottograph. Quantitative indicators of acoustic and laryngeal characteristics of vowels in stressed and unstressed phonetic positions were obtained using Praat, converted into relative units and normalized using the z-score method. Statistical processing was held in IBM SPSS Statistics package using a multivariate general linear model. The main role in marking Gilaki stressed syllable is played by duration (Т) with such integral parameters that are calculated on the basis of the envelope curves’ area. Pitch (F0) and intensity (I) also increase in the stressed syllable, but these factors appear statistically insignificant. Moreover, the laryngeal parameter of vertical larynx fluctuation’s amplitude (VLPamp) correlates with Gilaki stress.

Tools to actualise the informal register of communication in Russian and Palestinian blogs
Abstract
this paper delves into the analysis of the materials from Russian and Palestinian blogs and applies a content analysis method. The study is aimed at analyzing the differences in commentary registers within blog communication, as well as identifying the differences and similarities in informal communicative tools used by Russian and Palestinian bloggers when addressing their audience. The analysis revealed that in both cases, in Palestinian and Russian blogs slang and informal conversational speech styles are used during interactions with subscribers, which are characteristic of friendly communication. Additionally, both cases involve the use of specific vocabulary and the personal pronoun you as a form of address to a large audience. However, some differences were found in the types of greetings and personal pronouns used by Palestinian bloggers depending on the content of their statements. Furthermore, while analyzing blogs from Palestine and Russia, we noted that Russian blogs feature active use of emojis and profanity, whereas Palestinian blogs predominantly include religious expressions without any profanity.
