Emotional contrast in the description of two lakes (based on the story by A. Matveeva "At the Lake")

The aim of the study is to identify the features of emotive contrast in the artistic description of two lakes in A. Matveeva's story "On the Lake" and its significance in creating emotional richness, narrative dynamics, and aesthetic expressiveness of the work. The article examines the role of emotive contrast in conveying the emotional states of the characters and its impact on the reader's perception. The analysis reveals the specifics of narrative dynamics, determined by the changing emotional nuances of the narrative, and also identifies artistic construction methods that enhance the aesthetic expressiveness of the story. The material for the study includes A. Matveeva's story "On the Lake" (Matveeva, 2012), as well as a number of works dedicated to the life and creativity of this author (Lipnevich, 2002; Rakhayeva, 2013; Remizova, 2003; Sekretov, 2013; Seregina, 2016; Slavnikova, 2002), which, in particular, present interviews, memories, and various critical assessments that reveal aspects of her literary style, themes of her works, and artistic techniques. The analysis employed methods such as content analysis, descriptive-analytical method, classification method, and contextual analysis, considering the context of their usage in analyzing comparative structural semantic and functional characteristics, as well as inductive and comparative methods. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it reveals aspects of emotive contrast at the level of textual meaning and structural construction of A. Matveeva's story "On the Lake" for the first time; particular attention is given to how the contrasting images of the lakes in the artistic work serve as active participants in conveying the inner world of the characters. As a result of the study, it has been established that in the artistic description of the lakes in A. Matveeva's story "On the Lake," emotive contrast plays an important role in ensuring the formation of emotional richness of the work. It allows, on one hand, to draw attention to the internal experiences of the characters and, on the other, to recreate a dynamic and multifaceted picture of the world that reflects their inner state.
