Abstract
The article discusses the features and types of motivation in sports during adoles- cence and early adulthood. It analyses the factors that influence the formation of external and internal motivation, as well as their role in developing a stable interest in sports. The article provides recommendations for developing motivational programmes (strategies) that take into account the age and individual characteristics of athletes.
