Features of the Second Harmonic Generation in CTA Target Plasma

Fronya A.A., Sahakyan A.T., Puzyrev V.N., Starodub A.N., Kondratenko T.T., Borisenko N.G.

Abstract

The results of experiments on the study of the second harmonic generation in plasma of low-density cellulose triacetate targets are presented. Targets were irradiated using a neodymium glass laser at the nanosecond fundamental frequency. The data on the time sweep of the second harmonic generated in plasma are obtained. The features of the spectral and time distributions of the second harmonic radiation are discovered: with increasing the density, a maximum appears in the spectrum, and two maxima appear in the time dependence of the intensity.

Physical Interactions of Biopolymers with Nanoparticles

Kosmyntseva A.V., Petrova I.O., Rakovich Y.P., Sukhanova A.V., Nabiev I.R.

Abstract

Using fluorescence resonance energy transfer, the physical interaction of nanoparticles with biopolymers is studied by the example of the interaction of quantum dots (energy donor) with two-chain oligonucleotides labeled with a fluorescent organic dye BDP TR (energy acceptor). The high-efficiency resonance energy transfer from quantum dots to an organic dye not only makes it possible to study the dependence of the transfer efficiency on the donor-acceptor molar ratio but also represents an efficient tool for studying the interactions of oligonucleotides of different structures with nanoscale objects.

Vibration-proof ECDL with an Intracavity Interference Filter

Vassiliev V.V., Zibrov S.A., Vas’kovskaya M.I., Chuchelov D.S., Tsygankov E.A., Kuzmich S.V., Velichansky V.L.

Abstract

A new external cavity diode laser (ECDL) structure with an interference filter (IF) as a selective element is proposed. Key units of the developed ECDL, providing high mechanical stability, and hence, reproducible device characteristics, are the units of selective element rotation and radiation output from the laser cavity. Such ECDL is proposed to be used in onboard electro-optical systems.

Reflectance Modification in Nanostructured Silicon Layers with Gradient Porosity

Mussabek G.K., Yermukhamed D., Suleimenova Z.A., Assilbayeva R.B., Sivakov V.A., Zavestovskaya I.N., Timoshenko V.Y.

Abstract

A significant change in effective reflectance spectra of nanostructured porous silicon layers grown with different times of metal-assisted chemical etching is detected. The low reflectances at the level of 5–10% measured in the spectral range of 200–400 nm are explained by strong elastic scattering of light in combination with absorption in silicon nanostructures, while a reflectance increase in the range of 500–1800 nm, which is visually detected as a “white” layer appearance is associated with Mie scattering in silicon nanostructures with gradient porosity under conditions of weak optical absorption. The results obtained are discussed from the viewpoint of potential applications of “black” and “white” nanocrystalline silicon in photonics and sensorics.

Effect of Gallium Carrier in 68Ga-Ethylenediaminetetrakis (Methylene Phosphonic Acid) on its Behavior in Laboratory Animals

Petriev V.M., Tishchenko V.K., Stepchenkova E.D., Zavestovskaya I.N., Shegai P.V., Ivanov S.A., Karpin A.D.

Abstract

This paper concerns the study of the effect of the stable gallium carrier and its concentration on the biodistribution of a new osteotropic compound based on N,N,N′N′-ethylenediaminetetrakis (methylene phosphonic acid) and gallium-68 (68Ga-EDTMP). The studies are performed on intact Wistar rats. It is shown that the bone tissue activity increases as the carrier is added, whereas it decreases in internals and tissues. The carrier concentration has no significant effect on the 68Ga-EDTMP.

Features of the Surface Region of the Semiconductor Structure Formed by Metal-Assisted Chemical Etching of Single-Crystal Silicon

Melnik N.N., Tregulov V.V., Rybin N.B., Ivanov A.I.

Abstract

The surface region of the semiconductor structure containing a porous layer formed by metal-assisted etching of a single-crystal silicon substrate is studied by scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and capacitance—voltage characteristic measurements. A donor-depleted layer is detected within the porous film near its outer surface.

Lidar Sensing of Multilayer Fog Evolution in the Inclined Tunnel of the Baksan Neutrino Observatory

Pershin S.M., Grishin M.Y., Zavozin V.A., Kuzminov V.V., Lednyov V.N., Makarov V.S., Myasnikov A.V., Tyurin A.V., Fedorov A.N., Petkov V.B.

Abstract

for the first time to our knowledge, multilayer fog evolution is detected using a compact backscattering lidar. Sensing of aerosols was performed in an inclined tunnel (50 m long) of the scintillation telescope of the Baksan Neutrino Observatory. The lidar was assembled on a GaAs diode laser (λ = 910 nm) with an eye-safe radiation intensity (< 1 µJ/cm2) and a high pulse repetition rate (to 10 kHz) with a record short duration (∼3 ns) when pumped with current pulses. A silicon avalanche photodiode operating in the gated photon counting mode was used as a receiver.
