Abstract
The functional state of the adrenal glands in diseases of the thyroid gland began to be studied since the 30s of our century, when the doctrine of steroid hormones took shape in biochemistry as an independent direction. Literary data on the functional state of the adrenal cortex in thyrotoxicosis are contradictory.

To the question of the role of heredity in the development of arterial hypertension
Abstract
The study of the prevalence of arterial hypertension in recent years has been given great importance. The works of the Institute of Therapy of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (A. L. Myasnikov, 1965; I. A. Ryvkin, 1960) revealed interesting facts in the epidemiology of this suffering.
Renal vascular resistance in hypertension
Abstract
The value of blood pressure is determined by the minute volume of the heart and the resistance that the blood flow meets in the vessels. Most of the peripheral resistance falls on the arterioles. Resistance increases with constriction and decreases with dilation of arterioles.
Isotope method for studying the functional state of blood capillaries in chronic leukemia
Abstract
We studied with the help of radioactive isotopes the state of permeability of blood capillaries with respect to labeled ions in the direction from tissues to blood in patients with various forms of chronic leukemia, as well as the effect of therapy in such patients on the functional state of capillaries.
Years of experience with caesarean section
Abstract
For 13 years (1954-1966) 575 caesarean sections were performed in maternity hospital No. 1 in Perm, which is 1.95% of the total number of births (29,434). Classical caesarean section was performed in 329 women (57.22%), in the lower segment of the uterus with a transverse incision - in 246 (42.78%).

Pseudotumorous syndrome in chronic intracranial hematomas
Abstract
Observations of 200 patients with brain tumors treated at our institute showed that differential diagnostics between tumors and pseudotumorous processes (parasites, granulomas, abscesses, chronic hematomas, etc.) often presents great difficulties.
Changes in the activity of some enzymes in the blood and urine of patients with coronary insufficiency
Abstract
We studied some enzymes of protein and phosphorus metabolism in patients with coronary insufficiency: adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase) was determined in erythrocytes, creatine phosphokinase (CP-ase), alkaline phosphatase and peptidases were determined in blood serum; creatine phosphokinase and peptidases were examined in urine.
On labor pain relief with vitamin B1
Abstract
Currently, the generally accepted method of labor pain relief is a combination of psycho-preventive training with various pharmacological agents. It is desirable that the pharmacological agents used have not only an analgesic, but also a labor-accelerating property.
About xanthomatosis
Abstract
Despite the large number of works devoted to xanthomatosis, we did not find in the literature available to us a description of histochemical changes in alkaline and acid phosphatases in the affected skin areas. This prompted us to publish our observation.
The use of leeches for an attack of priapism
Abstract
A number of methods and means for the treatment of those suffering from priapism have been proposed: the use of fibrinolysin, intra-arterial injection of a 0.5% solution of novocaine, incision of the cavernous bodies and squeezing out blood clots, finally, the imposition of anastomosis between the cavernous body of the urethra and the paired cavernous bodies of the penis.
