The influence of the dominance of textual categories on the interpretation of German religious parables

in this article, the main object of study is the texts of parables, which play an important role in conveying moral and spiritual lessons in both the German religious tradition and other cultures. Eight religious parables were selected for analysis. The article presents a comparative analysis of these parables using the example of the parable of Augustine's Abraham and Santa Clara and one Gospel parable, applying a two-pronged approach to examining the parable as a type of text and as a literary genre. At the first stage of analysis, this approach made it possible to identify not only a hierarchical picture of the five text categories involved in the formation of the parable, but also the dominant categories among them. The second stage describes the activity of the invariant features of each of the categories in the realization of the genre characteristics of the parable. The interpretation of the results obtained allowed us to draw parallels between the participation of text categories in the formation of this genre and the construction of the text type, which is especially important for the reader's perception of the parable.
