Abstract
the article considers the interdisciplinary approach to learning English in the context of the development of psycholinguistics in historical perspective, from the position of the present time and from the point of view of the future. The aim of the work was to study the history of the application of the concepts of psycholinguistics and the interdisciplinary approach to learning English. The possibilities of practical application of the interdisciplinary approach to learning English in the light of modern concepts of psycholinguistics are studied. The author emphasizes that modern methods are focused on a personality-oriented approach and the development of general cultural competence of students, which is important in the context of globalization and intercultural exchange. In conclusion, a conclusion is made about the need to use integrated methods that contribute not only to language learning, but also to the development of cultural norms and values of another country. The article presents a rationale for the importance of psycholinguistic concepts in teaching English in various educational contexts. It can be summarized that the concepts of psycholinguistics have played an important role in the development of modern methods of teaching English based on an interdisciplinary approach, in which the process of learning a language is integrated with the process of communication, and in parallel with the language, students master the cultural and social norms characteristic of the inhabitants of the country of the language being studied. At present, most of these methods are used in teaching adults or high school students. However, many of them can be adapted to teaching preschool and primary school children.
