Abstract

the article deals with the problem of interrelation of professional identity and empathic abilities in psychology students in the process of their professional formation. Various aspects of empathy as a multidimensional construct and its role in the formation of professional identity are analyzed. The factors promoting and hindering the development of these components in the process of training are investigated. Special attention is paid to the influence of different training formats on the formation of professional identity and the development of empathic abilities. The significance of practical experience, authentic educational environment and interactive teaching methods is revealed. Barriers in the development of professionally important skills are considered and ways to overcome them are suggested. The results of the study show a complex relationship between the development of empathy and the formation of professional identity, emphasizing the need for an integrated approach to the training of future psychologists.
