Comparative analysis of Russian and Chinese models of studying political metaphor based on models of social metaphor and artifact metaphor (using the example of political discourse of Xi Jinping and Putin)

the article is devoted to a comparative analysis of Russian and Chinese models of studying political metaphor based on the concepts of social metaphor and artifact metaphor. The political discourse of Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin is considered as empirical material, which allows us to identify nationally specific features of metaphorical modeling in political rhetoric. The methodological basis of the study combines cognitive-discursive analysis and elements of critical discourse analysis, which provides a comprehensive consideration of metaphor as a tool of ideological influence and the formation of the image of power. Common features in the use of metaphors for the legitimization of political course, as well as differences reflecting the cultural, historical and socio-political context of the two countries are revealed. The results obtained expand the understanding of the intercultural specificity of political metaphor and contribute to the development of comparative linguopolitical science.
