Abstract
This article deals with the problem of internationalization of education in a technical university. It draws line between the concepts of "internationalization" and "globalization" and defines the terms "inner" and "outer" internationalization. One of the main obstacles to the development of educational and research services export is the lack of foreign language skills of the students and teachers of technical specialties. In this regard, the article provides an overview of the achievements of the Samara State Technical University in its pursuit to create favourable conditions for the development of a foreign language environment at the University.
