Abstract
The problem of creative self-development of a teacher is considered in the context of the process of humanization of education over several historical eras. The author identified the main conditions that influenced the dynamics of this process in the context of external and internal (educational) factors within the framework of education. In conclusion it is stated that the most promising way to humanize the pedagogical process is the creation of an educational space being suitable for reflection, creative understanding and interpretation of the theoretical provisions of the humanistic paradigm of pedagogy, and understanding of historical experience.
