Valentina D. Chernyak: in memory of the scientist

The article is dedicated to the memory of the famous Russian linguist, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia Valentina D. Chernyak, her contribution to the history of Russian studies, functional lexicology, lexicography and Russian speech culture. Based on the analysis of the scientific and educational works of the scholar, the contribution of Valentina D. Chernyak to modern Russian studies and language education in Russia is discribed. The role of Valentina D. Chernyak as a scientist, teacher and organizer of scientific activities is shown, her creative scientific connections with scholars of the Russian Language Department of Tomsk State Pedagogical University are noted
