Abstract

The behavior of porphyrin polymers derived from polyvinyl alcohol in aqueous solutions was investigated by viscometry. It was found that increasing amount of porphyrin in the immobilizate increases the size of the macromolecular coil of polyvinyl alcohol due to the incorporation of the tetrapyrrole macroheterocycle into the polymer matrix. It was shown that the immobilized porphyrin structure does not affect the nature of the polymer‒solvent interaction.
