Projection Method for Constructing Full-Wave Models of Striplines

Kovalenko A.N.

Abstract

A numerico–analytical method for calculating the eigenwaves of striplines, making it possible to obtain numerical results with high accuracy at low computational costs, is developed. An algebraic model of a microstrip line in a multilayer dielectric medium is constructed. The elements of the matrix of a system of linear algebraic equations are transformed into rapidly converging series. Asymptotic expressions for the matrix coefficients and an asymptotic solution of an infinite system of linear algebraic equations are obtained. The results of a numerical analysis of the convergence of the method, confirming its efficiency, are presented.

Form-Temporal Dynamics of Subnanosecond Radio Pulses Propagating in Heterogeneous Media

Kostin M.S., Vikulov V.M., Tambovskii S.S.

Abstract

The results of radiophysical investigations of the form-temporal dynamics of subnanosecond pulses propagating in heterogeneous media are presented. The reflection of these pulses from an inclined plane surface and their propagation through a dielectric are demonstrated. The influence of the scattering cross section of an illuminated surface and the influence of the dielectric loss on the form-frequency dynamics characterizing the distribution of the field intensity of Gaussian radio pulses are investigated. The features of the form-temporal and spectral transformations of the distribution of the electric field intensity characterizing ultrashort pulse signals are shown. The main results of the investigations are formulated.

Transient Electromagnetic Pulse Emanation in Digital Systems in the Mode of Pulsed Excitation of the Printed Connector Elements

Kostin M.S., Vikulov V.M., Paramonov A.A.

Abstract

Specific features of the formation of transient electromagnetic pulse emanation fields induced by the pulsed excitation of printed elements are discussed. The field formation affects the electromagnetic compatibility of digital signal processing devices. It is shown that printed conductors in complex-layout boards with a specific geometrical configuration can work as electromagnetic emitters. It has been established that the video pulse length, clock frequency, and code sequence alternation phase determine the spectral behavior of a digital signal, which may coincide with the eigenfrequencies of printed emitters, in particular, forming a mode of excitation on the self-oscillations when decreasing video pulse length or front steepness. The results of investigations of potentially emitting printed element prototypes are reported.

Local Methods of Numerical Signal Differentiation

Isakov V.N., Kovalenko A.N.

Abstract

The methods of numerical signal differentiation are discussed. The convergence conditions for numerical differentiation are formulated. The approach to numerical signal differentiation is generalized based on regular local interpolation with generalized polynomials. The coefficients of optimal differentiators are determined using numerical-analytical methods. Various methods of numerical differentiation are subjected to comparative analysis. The results are implemented in practice.

The Adaptive MTI System with Minimized Magnitude and Phase Distortions of the Processed Chirp Echo Signal

Bartenev V.G., Bitukov V.K., Gordeev A.Y., Kotov A.F.

Abstract

The article exhibits some issues associated with the nonlinear phase-frequency characteristic of the notch whitening filter based on a two-channel adaptive system with cross-control of filter weights arising from the chirp signal processing and with the distortion of such a signal caused by this nonlinearity. An adaptive MTI system is proposed, using which the distortion of the useful chirp signal contained in the input unclassified observation sample is minimized during adaptive notch processing with cross-control of weights.

Digital Methods for Linearization of Phase–Frequency Characteristics of Analog Filters

Grebenko Y.A., Polyak R.I., Starikovskii A.I., Kulikov G.V.

Abstract

It is shown that the phase–frequency characteristic (PFC) of an analog filter connected to an ADC can be linearized with the aid of a digital filter with a finite impulse response (FIR). Circuit simulation is used to show that an end-to-end PFC becomes more linear and the frequency response function (FRF) is equal to squared FRF of the analog filter. It is also shown that the PFC of bandpass complex analog filters can be linearized. Series-connected real low-pass filter and complex bandpass filter are simulated using low-frequency fifth-order Butterworth prototype with the corresponding linearizing FIR filters. It is shown that the nonuniformity of group delay time in the pass band can be decreased by a factor of greater than 100.

Algorithm for Recovery of Reciprocity of a Wireless Communications Channel in MIMO Systems

Kulikov G.V., Tambovskii S.S., Savvateev Y.I., Grebenko Y.A.

Abstract

A new method for correcting the Massive MIMO system for MRT precoding in a downlink channel in order to recover the reciprocity of the channel is considered. It is shown that the lack of reciprocity of the channel between the base station and the user equipment is the main factor deteriorating the system performance. It is also established that the correction is necessary only for the equipment of the base station in the downlink. An estimate of the quality of the algorithm is given.

On the Interference Immunity of Minimum-Shift Keying Signal Reception in the Presence of Nonfluctuating Interference

Kulikov G.V., Tambovskii S.S., Savvateev Y.I., Starikovskii A.I.

Abstract

The interference immunity of a correlation demodulator of minimum-shift keying signals is analyzed in the presence at its input, in addition to noise, of one of the nonfluctuating interferences: scanning, pulsed, or relayed. The dependences of the symbol probability error on the signal-to-noise ratio and on the energy, time, and frequency parameters of the interferences are obtained. A comparison of the effect of different types of interference is made.

Filtering Signals against Noise near the Attractor

Nefedov V.I., Reshetnyak S.A., Tret’yakov G.N., Zasovin E.A.

Abstract

In this paper, we numerically studied the interaction of signal and noise in a second-order nonlinear active filter. The filtering of the signal against a background of intense noise through a nonlinear filter with a bandpass filter at output is analyzed. The output signal-to-noise ratio is established as more than three times higher than the similar ratio without using a nonlinear filter.

Abstract

In this paper, we present the results on the structural synthesis of synchronization systems optimized for speed in a transient operation mode. The performance problems of entering a synchronous operation mode are analyzed based on phase portraits of phase-locked loop systems. The global linearization of the phase portrait trajectories, which allowed arguing structural solutions for synchronization systems with improved dynamic characteristics, was performed.

Kostin M.S., Boikov K.A., Kotov A.F.

Abstract

Methods and tools of cyclogenerative aclock ultrashort-pulse signal digitization are discussed, which, in contrast to stroboscopic signals, allow a subnanosecond radio pulse to be reconstructed and reproduced in a single reception. The main advantages and drawbacks of the methods for time division and cycliclike regeneration of nonstationary signal processes based on high-speed semiconductor electronics are reported. The prospects and trends of radiophotonic techniques for high-speed digitization of subnanosecond radio pulses are outlined.

Abstract

In this paper, we extended the theory of optimal nonlinear filtering of discrete-continuous processes to receiving signals with intersymbol information coupling, i.e., signals with a shape depending on both the current information symbol and the previous symbols at a certain time interval. The general algorithm of receiving these signals and its simplified version that allows practical implementation of a demodulator are considered.
