Abstract
Who of the educated doctors and naturalists today does not know how abundant in the results and fruitful in the conclusions of the observations made in the course of these ten years with methylene blue. Injecting this wonderful reagent into the circulatory or lymphatic system of living, or just dead animals, or irrigating methylene blue tissue, which has not yet lost its vital properties, Ehrlich (1), Arnstein (2), Smirnov (3), Dogel (4) , M.D. Lavdovskiy (5), Retzius (6) and other authors found that methylene blue should be recognized as the best, one might say, the most sensitive reagent for detecting nerves and nerve plexus in various organs and tissues, not excluding the most nervous tissues such as the spinal cord and brain with their nodes and roots.

- Относительно этого новаго фиксажа, т. е. молибденовокислаго аммонія, который авторъ его, т. e. Bethe, примѣняетъ для удержанія синьки въ ткани, соединяя названный аммоній съ перекисью водорода и дѣйствуя ледянымъ растворомъ на ткань, я позволю себѣ сказать, что такой фиксажъ былъ предложенъ собственно для того, чтобы ткань, обработанная имъ, могла выдерживать послѣдующее оплотнѣніе въ спиртѣ (вѣдь, не все же съ метиленовой синькой можно прямо изслѣдовать, многіе органы нужно уплотнять и рѣзать). Тѣмъ не менѣе фиксажъ Bethe мало достигаетъ цѣли: отъ алкоголя такъ много высасывается синьки, что нужна слишкомъ быстрая обработка ткани, чтобы не потерять полученнаго результата. Поэтому я почти не пользовался способомъ Bethe за исключеніемъ случаевъ, гдѣ молибденовокислый аммоній могъ быть соединенъ съ глицериномъ, подобно пикриновокислому и опять же не для разрѣзовъ. Для фиксажа можно брать смѣсь изъ насыщеннаго въ водѣ молибденовокислаго аммонія—1 часть и чистаго глицерина—1 часть. Фиксировать, какъ и при пикриновокисломъ аммоніѣ, при обыкновенной комнатной температурѣ. Слѣдуетъ только брать достаточное количество фиксажа, чтобы онъ не разжижался влагою препарата, —это весьма важно. Препараты, однако, не долго удерживаютъ свою элекцію, потому что синька начинаетъ. диффундировать и ясные контрасты исчезаютъ.
