Abstract
An overview of Russian and foreign resources on the topic of the field of webometric research is presented. The research material is data collected from Scopus (Elsevier), the Web of Science (Thomson Reuters), the Database of Computer Science (VINITI), and the Scientific Electronic Library (eLibrary). Based on analysis of these data, the primary directions of webometric research in libraries are identified and reviewed. The importance and relevance of continued realization of this research is noted.
