Abstract

This paper presents the information and methodical approaches for the identification of scientific schools in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The data consisted of the funds of dissertations defended in the republic during the years of its independence, which were formed at the JSC NCSTI, and “Accounting Cards of Dissertations” DBs, which reflect the staff scientific potential of Kazakhstan and the dynamics of its formation, fields and trends of new research. In the first stage of the study, registers were made of scientists–leaders in individual branches of science, under whose supervision ten and more candidate’s and (or) three and more doctoral dissertations have been defended.
