Tetraindole Derivatives of Porphyrins as Building Blocks in the Synthesis of Monodisperse Polyphenols
Abstract
A new strategy for the synthesis of monodisperse polyphenols chemically bound to a rigid thermally stable molecular platform has been suggested. The platform has been prepared by the Suzuki–Miyaura reaction of a tetraboryl porphyrin derivative and 3-(4′-bromophenyl)-4,6-dimethoxyindole. Subsequent reactions of complete demethylation of obtained tetraindole and partial blocking of the corresponding phenolic hydroxyls by acid-labile protective groups have led to the formation of a final modified polyphenol compound of the porphyrin series. On the basis of the this polyphenol, a positive photoresist for lithography with exposure radiation at a wavelength of 13.5 nm has been developed; the photoresist affords the fabrication of topological structures with 16-nm resolution.

One-Pot Chlorine-Free Synthesis of Chiral Organophosphorus Compounds from Elemental Phosphorus and α-Methylstyrene Dimer
Abstract
Direct phosphorylation of α-methylstyrene dimer with red phosphorus in KOH/DMSO superbasic system has provided the preparation of 4-methyl-2,4-diphenylpentylphosphonous acid (heating at 105°C for 3 h) or tris(4-methyl-2,4-diphenylpentyl)phosphine oxide (microwave irradiation, 15 min) in 21 and 38% yield, respectively.

New Adamantane Derivatives with NO-Generating Fragment
Abstract
An approach to the synthesis of adamantane derivatives with NO-generating fragment containing nitroxy group has been developed. 1-Aminoadamantane, memantine, and adamantanecarboxylic acid have been used as initial compounds. The prepared compounds have shown ability to generate nitric oxide in a system mimicking biological reactions of nitro group reduction.

Garnet Solid Solution (Y1 – xBix)3Fe2.5Ga2.5O12
Abstract
Samples of composition (Y1–xBix)3Fe2.5Ga2.5O12 (0 ≤ х ≤1), synthesized by the polyvinyl alcohol gel combustion method, have been studied by X-ray diffraction. It has been shown that the homogeneity range of the solid solution persists up to the composition Y1.5Bi1.5Fe2.5Ga2.5O12. This allows to consider gallium- substituted bismuth yttrium ferrites with an equimolar Fe: Ga ratio as stable materials for possible use in magnetooptics.

Chemical Technology
Morphology, Nanostructure, and Processability of Reactor Powders of Ultrahigh-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene Produced on Self-Immobilizing Catalytic Systems
Abstract
The possibility of heterogenization of a polymer system by using new post-metallocene catalytic systems comprising phenoxy-imine titanium halide complexes with different ligand environments modified by oxyallyl groups was studied with the aim of decreasing sticking of the reactor powders of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE RPs) suitable for solid-phase processing. The effective use of selfimmobilizing systems for the manufacture of UHMWPE RPs with reduced sticking to the reactor walls and the stirrer, but with somewhat reduced strength of the UHMWPE RP-based articles is shown.
