On the stimulating and inhibitory methods of acupuncture reflexology

The division of techniques for introducing a special metal needle during acupuncture into stimulating and inhibitory methods, depending on the depth of needle insertion and the length of time it remains in the tissues, does not correspond to the complexity of the physiological processes of excitation and inhibition.
Phase of the clinical course of cerebral arachnoiditis

Abstract. Based on the analysis of clinical and electrophysiological studies of 116 patients with cerebral arachnoiditis of traumatic and infectious etiology, the phasing of the clinical course of the disease was revealed. There are 4 clinical phases: compensation, subcompensation, moderate decompensation, gross decompensation. Their importance in differentiated treatment tactics is shown.
On the clinical assessment of radiological data in children with natal lesions of the cervical spinal cord

Abstract. Based on a clinical examination of 317 children with natal spinal cord lesions, an assessment of the X-ray method for diagnosing such suffering is given. Radiographically detectable symptoms of cervical spine trauma were found in 33.1% of the examined, and among children under 1 year old - in 51.4%.
Lumbar osteochondrosis in women with chronic inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs

Psychosomatic approach to psychotherapy of neurotic vomiting

Abstract. The urgency of the development of psychotherapeutic methods for the treatment of anorexia nervosa is substantiated. The proposed method of psychotherapy, which takes into account psychosomatic relationships in severe neurotic vomiting syndrome. The data on successful treatment of 3 patients according to the author's method are presented.
Combined forms of otogenic sinustrombosis and sepsis

Abstract. The case histories of 157 patients treated in ENT clinics in Kazan for combined forms of otogenic sepsis were analyzed (data for 45 years). A comparative assessment of the clinical course of the disease and the applied methods of treatment was carried out.
Anatomical and functional asymmetry in unilateral glaucoma

Abstract. Some anatomical and functional parameters of two eyes were compared in 45 patients with unilateral glaucoma. Changes characteristic of glaucoma can also be detected in the second eyes, with normal intraocular pressure. Detection of glaucoma in one eye is the basis for a more thorough examination of the other eye for early diagnosis.
The use of papain in glaucoma microsurgery

Abstract. A method is proposed for drug modification of the microstructures of the anterior chamber angle (sinusolation) by papain when performing microsurgical pathogenetically oriented operations in patients with uncompensated open-angle glaucoma.
Therapeutic keratoplasty with dehydrated cornea for corneal diseases

Abstract. The results of therapeutic keratoplasty of a dehydrated cornea in severe viral keratitis, degenerative processes, purulent ulcers, recurrent pterygiums and dermoid corneal cysts are presented. Analysis of the outcomes indicates the effectiveness of lamellar keratoplasty in these diseases that cannot be treated with conservative methods.

On some controversial issues in surgery of various anatomical and functional forms of goiter

Abstract. Of 212 patients operated on for nodular and mixed forms of goiter, malignant degeneration was found in 2.8%. With a large thyroid gland with moderate and severe thyrotoxicosis, drug treatment should be prescribed for preoperative preparation; patients with nodular and mixed forms of goiter are certainly subject to surgical treatment in the early stages.
The effectiveness of sanatorium treatment of patients with respiratory tuberculosis

Abstract. Comprehensive treatment of 996 patients with different forms of pulmonary tuberculosis in a sanatorium gave positive results in 93%. At the sanatorium stage of treatment, cavities closed in 35.3% of newly diagnosed patients and in 15.4% of patients with a disease more than 2 years old. In the group of patients admitted to the sanatorium with pulmonary tuberculosis in the infiltration phase, at discharge, the resorption phase was ascertained in 90% of newly diagnosed patients and in half of patients with a process older than 2 years.
Epidemiological features of Botkin's disease against the background of gammaglobulin prophylaxis

Abstract. The incidence of Botkin's disease over 11 years, as well as the effectiveness of some preventive measures, have been analyzed. A number of features of the epidemiology of this infection are noted - the undulation of the course, seasonality, age shifts against the background of the use of gamma globulin, etc. An increase in the frequency of serum hepatitis has been noted.
The use of novocaine blockade of the celiac nerves and the sympathetic trunk in the complex treatment of peptic ulcer

Abstract. The results of complex treatment of 119 patients with gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer with the use of novocaine blockade of celiac nerves and borderline sympathetic trunks are summarized. This type of complex therapy is quite feasible in the conditions of the district and local hospitals. In addition, it is at the same time a differential diagnostic test for selecting patients with irreversible organic changes for surgical treatment.

Analysis of electrogastrograms allows one to judge about the beneficial effect of novocaine blockade of the celiac nerves and sympathetic trunks on the motor function of the stomach in patients with gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, intestine. By the end of the course of treatment, along with clinical improvement, normalization of the electrical activity of the stomach was noted in patients with both hyperkinetic and hypokinetic types of motility.

Abstract. Examination of 55 patients using infrared photography revealed changes in the saphenous veins, and in a number of patients the place of occlusion in the deep veins was determined. The objectivity of registration and clarity of the image, the simplicity, safety and information content of the infrared photography method allow us to recommend it for widespread use both in surgical practice and in medical and labor expertise.

Results of palliative gastric resection and extirpation for cancer

Abstract. The analysis of the life expectancy of 56 patients after palliative resections and extirpations of the stomach was carried out. The results obtained indicate the advisability of palliative subtotal resections in patients with gastric cancer in the presence of distant single metastases in the liver, pancreas, and mesenteric root.
Ways of eliminating errors in medical rehabilitation of patients with severe injuries of the ankle joint

According to the materials of the specialized traumatological VTEK TASSR, the disability after severe injuries of the ankle joint during treatment in non-specialized hospitals (district and regional hospitals) is 3 times higher than during treatment in specialized departments. This is due to errors in the medical rehabilitation of this group of patients.
The course of pregnancy and childbirth with congenital malformations of the uterus

Abstract. The analysis of the course of pregnancy and childbirth in 12 women with uterine malformations was carried out. The main complication of pregnancy was the threat of its termination, in childbirth - the transverse position of the fetus, untimely discharge of water, weakness of labor forces, bleeding, which required operative delivery in 4 women in labor. Timely recognition of this pathology and treatment of complications help to avoid perinatal death of newborns.
Childbirth during pregnancy in both horns of the two-horned uterus

Abstract. A successful outcome of twin birth in a woman with a two-horned uterus is described. The simultaneous onset of pregnancy in both horns of the bicornuate uterus is a rare type of multiple pregnancy. In the domestic literature, we were able to find reports of only two cases of early pregnancy in both parts of the bicornuate uterus [1, 3] and one case of birth of twins with a bicornuate uterus [2].

Biomicrocycloscopy in patients with central retinal vein thrombosis

We have developed a contact prism for direct examination of the processes of the ciliary body of the eye. With its help, a study was made in 63 patients with central retinal vein thrombosis and in 13 patients with post-thrombotic glaucoma. In the latter, in the acute stage of the disease, examination was usually difficult due to corneal edema.
The content of components of the fibrinolytic system in the platelets of donor and fibrinolytic blood

The aim of this study was a comparative study of the main components of the fobrinolytic system in platelets from donor and cadaver blood. In the suspension and extract of platelets obtained by the usual method (the concentration of donor and cadaver platelets was the same), the antiplasmin, antiactivator activity, the activity of the proactivator, the content of profibrinolysin and plasminogen activator were determined.
Influence of blood flow velocity on blood viscosity indices
Abstract
Using a rotary microviscometer, a comparative study of the blood viscosity of healthy men (30) and women (30) at blood flow rates close to physiological (see table) was carried out. The age of men and women was approximately the same: 25.1 ± 1.4 years and 25.5 ± 0.9 years, respectively.
Fibrinolytic and fibrin-stabilizing properties of the cortex and medulla of the human kidney
Abstract
The fibrinolytic activity of kidneys taken from 10 patients who died with symptoms of chronic renal failure was investigated. Extracts were prepared from the kidneys at the rate of 1 g of tissue per 9 ml of saline. Fibrinolytic activity was determined by the method of Kovarzhik and Bulyuk modified by V.P.Skipetrov.

We have studied the coagulation and platelet-vascular mechanisms of hemostasis in 57 patients suffering from chronic hematogenous osteomyelitis of the bones of the upper and lower extremities, suppurative processes in the lungs and pleura, diffuse purulent peritonitis, subphrenic and interintestinal abscesses, small fistulas and colonic fistulas.
Some features of acute gastroenteritis caused by vibrio NAG

In recent years, the attention of epidemiologists, microbiologists and clinicians has been attracted by vibrios that do not agglutinate with cholera O-serum (NAG vibrios). According to the description of a number of authors, NAG-infection often proceeds as gastroenteritis and enteritis. Mild and moderate forms prevail, with nausea, vomiting, loose stools from 2 to 10 times a day, moderate intoxication. However, in 3-5% of patients, the infection takes on severe forms, with signs of dehydration, which requires intensive rehydration therapy.
Combined form of bacterial dysentery with ulcerative colitis

Plastic surgery of the ureter with a demucosis of the small intestine
Abstract
The technique of demucosation of the graft and the entire course of the ureteral plastics operation is as follows. Under anesthesia, the abdominal cavity of the dog was opened with a right perrectal incision and the ileocecal angle was removed into the wound over a length of 35-50 cm. The selected section of the intestine was delimited with napkins from the abdominal cavity and a 10-15 cm section with preserved mesentery was resected.
Characterization of the allergenic properties of some chemical compounds used in the photographic industry

Allergenic properties of 4% aqueous solution of sodium salt of n-toluenesulfinic acid, 4% alcoholic solution of sodium salt of toluenesulfonic acid and 4% alcoholic solution of nitrostyrene were studied. The irritant properties of the preparations were checked by the application method.

Based on the archives of a number of medical institutions for 1951-1970. analyzed the case histories of 29 women aged 20 to 46 years, in whom pregnancy was combined with malignant neoplasms of various localization (see table). 23 women (79.3%) had cancerous tumors and 6 (20.7%) had sarcomas.
