Abstract

854 people were examined, among whom 123 (14.4%) carriers were identified. In the study of strains it was found that meningococcal strains with the usual biological characteristics of the species were isolated from the carriers. The use of media prepared on fish paste and Hottinger's broth did not affect the main features of the microbe (morphological and cultural properties, biochemical activity, agglutinability).
