Abstract
Deputy Minister of Health of the RSFSR AF Serenko made a report "The state of the incidence of intestinal infections in the RSFSR and the next tasks in the fight against them." He noted that the issues of combating intestinal infections play a huge role. In 1958, compared with 1957, dysentery decreased by 24.6%, and general intestinal diseases by 16.1%. It has been established that the etiological moment in intestinal dysfunctions is not only dysentery bacillus, but also pathogenic strains of Escherichia coli. In the 1st quarter of 1959, there was a decrease in the main infectious diseases, at the same time, an increase in dysentery was noted in a number of places (Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk regions, Komi ASSR, Arkhangelsk oblast, Karelo-Finnish ASSR, etc.).
