Abstract
the purpose of this article is to support translation activity and embroaden theoretical knowledge about similarities in unrelated languages. Using the Russian original text and professional translations of Bulgakov's novel "The Master and Margarita", we identify, demonstrate and substantiate grammatical and syntactic transformations that are equally suitable for use in translation from Russian into such unrelated languages as both English and Arabic. As the basis for classification, we take the Arabic grammatical tense forms. As a result of the comparative analysis, we identify grammatical transformations that are typical for certain grammatical tenses in all the three languages.
